Where can i find more info on Amanita Muscaria, such as what the humidty levels and temperature it fruits at, and what time of year it fruits in? I have searched and all i've found is it fruits in August? I live in the sierra nevada foot hills and in August is bone dry here. I always read how common it is yet i have never seen one.

if you get in goggle you will found million of info , i have spend hours in there but no any more, a you taking about humidity levels, well that´s not really of importance well it is, some how, but you said in august is bone dry , well when is pretty wet then?, in those days i can guaranty you will find amanita , in the right vegetation they host, trees like pine, fir, sometimes birch, oaks ,and that´s it all mushrooms need water to survive ,all and plenty of it, after 10 days of good rain is good time to go look, amanita are big mushrooms and sometime take sometime to produce all that mass.you tell me is raining?

Since you live in California all the seasons are off compared to the rest of the country. In California the mushrooms pay no attention to the calendar and fruit when it rains.
