ok I got my new 10 kilos of oddball Pedros in the mail today. they weren't packaged too well and they were kinda broken up and squished in places and a bunch of pups broke off "on right". some of the bases were kinda cracked and I dont know if I should heal them before planting or not. the one on the bottom left was squashed pretty bad. also one of the pups has root buds coming out and I wonder if I should just plant it?? they must have thought I was gonna eat these instead of planting them???

Squished places are an invitation to rot so you'd have to keep a watchful eye. If the squished places would be underground I'd keep those sections unplanted for a while to heal and monitor. If the damaged places would be above ground I see no harm in planting them. If a little pup has root buds I'd plant it too, just for kicks. Do what you want.

yeah it looks worse in person plainswalker, yep thats what I figured. some spots have splits in them. one of the spots is in the center so I may just chop it there and callous it and plant the two halves separately. another is squished and split at the bottom so I will let it heal for a few weeks before planting. the pup with the root buds I will plant and the others I will impale onto some pereskiopsis until they heal up.
also do you guys think I should cut off the damaged tops???

probably best just to leave them to heal for now, keep a close eye on them and if the wounds start to rot then cut the bad bits out...

Yeah, like uare said, I'd leave the tips for now, the cuttings already have enough wounds to worry about. You can cut them off later if you feel the need to and it won't be as hard on the cacti.
I recently got a rather large load of cacti and had to deal with bruises and rot. Keeping a good eye on them is important to watch for rot and of course cutting it out when you find it. Sometimes there can be a delay before anything shows up so just be careful. However, I've found with a watchful eye, a steady razorblade, and a box fan almost anything can be fixed.
