Quick LC question

Would it be bad to put my pot containing still heated water and my LC jar in the fridge to cool faster? Would it cause greater risk of contams? I dont see why, its sealed with foil over the jar and the lid of the pot is taped on, still hasnt been opened.. Thanks.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

it doesn't take that long to cool. no need to rush it. you might even break the jar if its really hot. i like to leave my LC jars in front of a UV light to kill the germs while its cooling. this way it has even less of a chance of being contam.

speeding up the cooling process of any container will cause a vacuum to form inside and it will begin "sucking" air in through every means possible. It's definitely more contaminate prone...
