How many years experience do you have?

I'm wondering how many years some of you old folkies have been growing shrooms. I've got a little over 2years but I'm still no 'expert'. Lots of mistakes and successes along the way. I personally HAVE to get good at shroom cultivation because it is the best medicine for my bipolar/panic disorder (no joke!).

3 years, most of that time was not spent growing because the first time I tried, my mom found my fruiting chamber in my closet right when the first pin was about to mature. the 2nd time I stopped because I thought I had HPPD which turned out to be xanax withdrawal.
This time I'd say 3 months at the very least so far. Bulk is much more rewarding in the end

5 months... Although I feel like I was ALWAYS meant to do this. While all my friends were growing weed, I couldn't grasp that concept and this was the only thing I ever wanted to learn. I have no bipolar issues, or mental problems, but I belong in deep space. So I will probably always be doing this

Hello,
This is my first post/reply.
I would say I have about a years worth of experience altogether. I am on my second time growing right now. I have 12 pint jars almost 100% colonized. I remember having so much contam trouble the first time I tried. Probably took me six months to have any success, which was minimal. I'm going to try and keep up consecutive grows this time around so that I will always have some on supply for good friends.
It is an excellent hobby.

36 years.
In 1971, I brought home a cow pie that had cubes growing on it because I could see 'mushroom roots' covering the whole bottom of the patty. I mixed it into my compost pile and forgot all about it until the fall rains came when I found hundreds of cubes all around the base of the compost pile. I've been hooked ever since.
It actually took me well over a year to learn that mushrooms don't have roots. There were no books on cultivation at the time, and of course no internet. The Dallas, Texas public library was my only source of information. I finally found Alexander Smith's field guide to western mushrooms in the mid 70's, and learned a lot about mushrooms from that, even though it's not a cultivation book. RR

36 years is a LONG FUCKIN TIME! I've been doing this for about a year and a month. I have been researching for the past 3 years. I've recently setup my martha and it's okay. Pretty ghetto but what can I say? Anyways, I'm gunna follow a 4 teir martha tek soon so I'll have some quantity coming in. I like deep space too I like to try and grow weed but it's too expensive to be honest. I could honestly come up with the supplies for shrooms easier then marijuana and I could make an O in a month of fruiting. I'd have to grow like 5 plants or so to get close to an o of bud. Lasts longer but, the mushroom trip is more rewarding for me and I can get results faster then from a weed plant

Other than one short trip three years ago to visit my brother in plano, I haven't even been in dallas in twenty years. I try to avoid places that have more churches than bars, so that rules out the whole south.
I used to go to the main branch downtown, but in the late seventies or early eighties they moved it closer to city hall. It's been too long to remember the address. RR

Researched for a year and doing for almost 2 years. About 30 successful events. PF cakes first time, wbs cased 2nd time, then straight to bulk and never looked back. Also it has accelerated my mental growth and understandings. I have been a mental wreck my whole life do to religion being stuffed down my throat. The fruits have let me let go of fear and shame that religion had set upon me. Have had journeys that idin't feel I was going to come back from(some one suggested I had poisoned everyone, had eaten7 g (greedy back then) and I believed it. All research and knowledge went out the window and I believed i was on slow poisoning death for about 6 hrs. Came out a new man with new appreciations. I never question the journey no matter how hard for they always take me to a pure mind set( not that every journey is like this{scary} just saying that every experience has benefited me mentally not just the"fun ones".

lol, complete honesty? Approximately 18 months...
Somewhere being touched with a killer case of "hyper focus" from my ADHD and blessed with a conceptually eidetic memory as well as an insatiable curiosity regarding anything that is "something new" my ability to free-associate research and learn is pretty amazing.
Of course the downside to all that is my "give a chit" is my primary motivating factor in my life. If I don't really give a shit about it, I'm not going to do it. But when something "new" has got my attention, it is the only thing I think about for days, weeks, etc.
BTW, you could learn a lot by reading a couple years worth of the archives, making sure to cross research (google) any and every topic you come across that you're not already familiar with...and if that new article contained a new term or topic you didn't already understand making sure to google that as well...and so on and so on.
Of course, now that the wifey isn't prego's anymore and I'm dealing with a newborn, a lot of that "free-time" has evaporated...lol
