I found an immature amanita growing near this tree in a park and i decided to pick it. I had nothing to put it in so i took a pencil case out of my backpack nad put it in there. I left the amanita in the pencil case overnight and to my surprise, it actually grew and matured in the pencil case overnight nad the cap opened. Is this normal because i thought that once you pick mushrooms they stop growing.

when we pick a mushroom , we pick a live creature, so is alive untild , the lack of moisture and water fluids deshydrate him , is like all fruit that are cut unripe, they rape latter , but mushrooms are more animated.
you have an amanita muscaria var. formosa , i bet there

I've seen mushroms that are picked with viel still closed, open and even have upturned caps and drop spores within hours if they are wraped in tinfoil. I don't think those are muscaria-don't eat them! A couple of amanita are very deadly and even the gem amanita (amanita gemmata) that has a more yellow cap like that one can contain the same toxins as the panther amanita.
Get a good book and take a spore print from mushrooms you pick. You might find some good ones to eat while out looking if you can id them easy.

i guees iam correct , but i do not recomend you to eat it, just for taxonomic purpuses , all amanitas have white spores , so that won´t help much , the concentric ring in the stem is a consistence feuture in all the amanita muscaria variants, but is true is very dangerus to eat amanitas, also the effect of this mushrroms may not be something to have fun , i will say to stay better in the red varietie, all my best

i'd say that's a muscaria...those look like rings of scales to me.
what kind of buzz? i've heard about this with muscaria before, and it seems there is something behind it.

yeah, you get a sort of "diziness". it actually improves alot when you mix it with MJ, you get a nice clear weed buzz.
looks like muscaria to me!

I wouldn't be so sure...there isn't so many fotos or descriptons to say so 100%.
actually my first guess when I looked at the fotos was A.rubescens. notice the stem base color, nevertheless the volva is extremely perfect and defined for rubescens...it's hard to say from so few data
stay well
