Any Londoners here?

I'm going to see Zeppelin on the 10th of Dec. The show was pushed back because Jimmy Page broke his finger. So of course this is after I purchase airfare and a hotel. So now I'm fucked, everything is 20 times more expensive than booking for November.
Anybody living in London want to take me in for a night or two? I have an extra ticket as well, I may give up..
or even, anyone know of a good place to stay or something?

You can always find somewhere cheap to stay in London, it just depends how desperate you are.
I can reccommend a pub in East Ham for 15 quid a night with free cooked breakfast. Just ignore the pitbull in the hall, the cockroaches in the communal bathroom, the mice in the room, the russian mafia behind the bar, the band playing till 3:00am downstair, the kiddie drugdealers playing the fruit machines, the random toddler dancing on the pool table, the Halal KFC down the road and the fact that not even what few English people were there could actually speak English.
On the good side though it's pretty interesting to watch the intricacies of the drug deal going down outside your window. Those little scamps are pretty good at their job.

Haha I would be down.
But in all seriousness I'm considering just hosteling it. Anyone want to go? I have a free zepp ticket if you make it out there.

when i went to london we stayed at a little place... it was near portobello market and you wouldn't know it was i hotel (erm, not really a HOTEL, but not quite a hostel)
anyway, the three of us shared a tiny room crammed with three twin sized beds and a communal bathroom/shower for the whole floor.
Not 5 star, but If you've lived in a dorm in college, then you can deal with this. flip flop in the showers type thing.
BTW, I'm sure my body wash is still there from where i accidentally tipped it behind the shower stall.
let's see... what to do in London... Walk around. Sure we did a few Tourist things, like the london dungeon and the london eye and riding one of those double decker tour buses, but really most of the stuff you can just walk around and see.
ride around london in the tube... (map it out before going down in the station so you don't look like some stupid 'merkin wanker tourist with an open map standing in everyone's way on the platform)
look at st paul's cathedral. go to the squares at night. go to clubs and pubs. go to hyde park. go through the Tate Museum, it's free if memory serves me correct. (it's right on the other side of millennium bridge, which is a cool bridge to take pics on b/c the dome of st paul's cathdral is RIGHT behind you)
we did a lot of random stuff, we went into a sex shop, where I set off the little door alarm walking IN. I pretty much wanted to keep a low profile while i was out, I didn't want to give away my american accent, especially because it's southern. Not like HICK, but i do have a touch of southern accent, being from oklahoma and all.
All those people who are "proud to be an american" need to go visit europe. they need to at least experience a healthier lifestyle and countries where it's not "cool" to speak like you're an uneducated fucktard from the ghetto.
I was there for 10 days and i still feel like i only saw a tiny fraction of it.
can't wait till i go back! I'll take that train under the ocean and see th rest of europe.
oh, PS- the British Pound is about $2.40 USD, so be prepared to pay over double for everything. also, ask your bank if there are fees for converting foreign currency when you use you visa check card overseas. I was hit with a 50 cent convert charge for EVERY transaction... next time I'm bringing one of those travelers pre-paid visa (or is it AmEx?) card. safer than risking getting your bank card stolen and safer than cash (although I still got 300 pounds in cash before i went- do this at your local bank BTW so you're not stuck in a HUGE line while you're there)

there are many hostels in the centre where it's somewhat affordable. at the moment the currency exchange is 2.04 usd to 1gbp...
the owners of yo sushi and muji have opened up standard and premium cabins in london heathrow and gatwick airport. www.yotel.com is the website. it's centered around the japanese hole in the wall sort of accommodations. the only problem is, gatwick is very far from the centre and same with heathrow - but with a zone 1-6 oystercard or travelcard the centre is easily accessible via the picadilly line from heathrow.
but, as it's led zepplin...i reckon they're going to be playing at the o2 arena which is in north greenwich...so i'd look for a place to stay in east london nearest to a DLR (docklands light railway) station. i have a friend who lives in canary wharf and just 10 mins from the o2 arena...but i don't know who you are and neither does he so i don't think that would go so well :p
good luck though, there should be plenty of hostels to stay at

Yay! Info!
Thanks all for the input.
To whom it may concern: As for the ticket, if you can convince me why you should have it I will gladly give it up. I need a good reason. I was going to scalp it but I don't want to anymore, I'm lazy. Also if you are a hot chick you will be put on the top of the list.
I seriously will give the ticket up. It's in the nosebleeds, (be warned!) Oh, and you will be siting next to me but I don't smell...

My friend >.> might bring psychotropic substances such as 2c-e/i
I'm not hot or female however.
Also the cannabis situation in the uk is absolutely dire. If you want to smoke while over here, find a way to bring you own
Other than that.. what can I say? I'm a chill 19 year old stoner dude who loves him some led (actually; I've only recently got into them.. I heard bbc sessions around my friends house while ketamized.. and since then I've been in love.. its all I've listened to)

If you wanna have some REAL fun in London then fuck the clubs off, PM me and i'll let you know how u can find out where the next psytrance party is gonna be held (Sat nights are the best) and brace yourself for a mind blowing evening! It's like weekly mass for the London psychedelic community, the people who go are the coolest most chilled out switched on open minded and friendly set of hardcore trance hippies you'll ever meet and you definitely wont have any trouble finding things to keep your brain entertained at one of these events Id be very surprised if a fair few of them dont already post on here to be honest!
