I smoke an average of 3-5 times a day I too feel lazy if I smoke an indica that's why those are reserved for when you go to sleep. If you smoke a sativa your day will be a lot better I have been smoking every day for 7 years. I have never had any of these problems that people are talking about. does your tolerance build sure but as it does with any thing from exercise to coffee to mushies. If you feel you are no longer getting the joy or high you are looking for take a break or switch buds to a more sat dom plant a haze is a great smoke for not feeling tired. sorry about the rant

I just save my smoking for whenever all my major tasks are done and I can just lie down and rest for a little. Really makes you look forward to getting home.
I also do it everyday and I don't notice any burnout effects or anything, most people are shocked to find out that I smoke regularly.

That's what I do! If you can make the transition from smoking every day to only smoking on weekends, you will be very pleased. I combine it with some alcohol drinking and I get super crunk, every time now. It's much more fun, and you won't mind being sober during the week because you have something to look forward to on friday/saturday, plus being sober will make it easier for you to get things you need done.

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

Everyone's different, i'm sure some of the daily users here keep motivated. I would love to smoke everyday, having only a bowl or 2 a night after a productive day. But that was the problem, i wouldn't just do it at the end of the day, I'd do it throughout and i would find myself getting lazy. If i had a 9-5 job it may of been easier but being a uni student i would smoke whenever i could and not get much work done. Now i use a fair bit of acid so smoking too many cones just became too intense on top of that. I'm having a break from both and will be careful to monitor my use in the future..From my experiences, it seems regular consciousness is the mind state we are meant to spend the most time in!

kotik said: quite an odd view... I don't respect people that don't respect people. Not sure why you would lose respect for someone and call them "dumb" because they smoke every day.
Some people drink coffee everyday, some smoke cigarettes, auto-erotic asphyxiation, etc. under your logic, all of these people are dumb too, and will eventually "burn out," right?
No, I am not calling them dumb for smoking every day. I'm calling them dumb for getting frustrated/confused when the burn out as a RESULT of smoking every day.
And yes, if a person does something every day for years, eventually that "thing" will start doing less and less for them. It's the principle of diminishing utility. If I hand you 100 Oreos, the 100th oreo will be significantly less pleasurable than the 1st one you ate.

I've been burning herb almost every single day for years and I always feel like a stupid burnout. But seriously if I replace my morning bowl with a coffee I'm completely fine. The people I know who are dumb potheads are dumb because they spend all their high moments avoiding mental work. Like they won't want to read or learn or anything. And since they are high all the time they never get around to do anything new. This site has always kept me thinking even during high times.

Don't think of it as taking a break, think of it as only smoking when you really want to. If that isn't enough, then you probably aren't ready for a break.
