Psychonaut “Adios to the ego, the project shall be cast from its plane, echoing ever so lightly in the stagnant depths,” scratched itself onto the inside of Projects eyelids. Leering in curiosity, he silently assured himself in the back of his mind he would not be surprised. Stepping up to the door, a surreal unknown penetrated Projects soul. Project looked at the door before him; feeling unseen sensations would soon arise from the depths of his bottomless pit. Itching at the knave, the abdomen had writhe, bubbling pockets rich with fumes of chemicals sacred to the fluorescent vision of the motherboard. It was then Project abandoned his reasoning and went for the door. Jiggling the knob didn’t seem to budge a hair. Positioning oneself on the other side only made it seem more impossible a feat, as the door seemed to mock him as it resisted against his pushes and pulls. He knocked once, as if asking the door to open itself, yet nothing happened, leaving him skeptical of the powers bestowed upon him. If he was to escape this void and get inside, what was one to do?
The motherboard accordingly took one more swig, as Project mulled over his thought of failure and just then, a black hole grew out of his forehead and sucked all that was Project inside itself. Realizing space and time had left to carry out their own selfish errands Project waved goodbye, as he floated down into the crevices between the folds of the motherboard. Project had lived and grown synchronized with all of its counterparts thus far, but it was at this junction he would need teamwork to get through the absurdity that was ahead. Project pondered one final thought as a whole, before disbanding himself to make sure all his weaknesses were covered; “I will make it out alive.”
With the maze at hand Ego felt fairly confident and quickly fastened himself leader amongst Id and Super Ego. Trailing through the confines, the pathways only seemed to get smaller and dirtier, leaving Ego with the only action of stripping himself down to make it any further. Discarding the memory fragments as he went along, Ego seemed to get more sentimental with each departure, but at the same time drew more and more pieces at an alarming rate as the walls closed in. The twist and turns contorted Id, so that it was at this point he modified himself to work on an engine foreign to his usual. All the while Super Ego carried on with no present form, quite comfortable in the maze that was unfolding before them.
The three moved forward for quite some time, trudging forward through the muck and the haze, until Ego decided he would reflect on his present state, as he had been growing marginal with every step. Id, noticing how cramped Ego had got over time, picked him up and place him on his shoulder to keep him safe, yet Ego grew mad at Id taking himself up as leader in the group. Ego pouted at Id demanding he be placed back down to lead the way, yet Id reminded him he was watching his back the entire time and it was more important he not be hindered by Ego’s apparent weaknesses. Ego, dismayed by Ids portrayal of his own perfection, jumped forward onto the path only to notice the walls had opened up to a large expanse of water stretching in every direction of darkness.
Id, using his new body, peered into the darkness to see gelatinous figures spiraling and tumbling in the shadows before them. They seemed to engulf the skyline, umbrella nocturne foreshadowed by the shrieking wails they left behind them. Super Ego forewarned Ego to watch his step and encouraged Id to keep moving forward. Id shacked violently as the body of water scathed at Ego, knocking him down to an even smaller size; meanwhile the dark lings drew closer with each decision. As Id peered into the water judging whether or not it was safe for him to head in, a piercing needle impaled his body to the ground. Looking up, the dark figures had somehow become one with each other, hovering malevolently over the body of water. Unknown pain ripped itself through Id as all flew into chaos. Ego had already become mad with fear and ran in circles, following the same exact path over and over. Super Ego warned Id that if he was to be taken out, Ego would have nowhere to return if he was to diminish and all three of them would be lost forever in their current state.
Pulling his self up the stake, Ids blood had seemed to make it easier to move with each tug, until he let go of it completely and fell to the ground. Id, reflecting on what Super Ego had said, dragged his almost lifeless body across the ground. Ego had falling apart from running into itself and Super Ego was preparing itself to absorb Id, as the darkness crept in. With one last breathe Id tumbled into the water only to feel his pain completely numbed.
Drifting in the everlasting flow, it was apparent to Id, Super Ego was right all along. It was at this point Id felt one with all that was super ego and felt renewed with a bursting vitality. Unbeknownst to any of the deities, some great cosmic energy had echoed back at the circuit, coursing out of Ids body. The channels ripped holes into the nothingness above and thus the whirlpools seen from below cleaned up the rest of the mess above, twisting all the scraps of the foe into a black abyss.
All the walls had seemed to unwind now in the motherboard, Id falling skywards out of the water as a cold enveloped a chest cavity within. Vectors came together, lucid with shocks of translucent clarity, held apparent by the colors meshed under the seams. So focal now everything around him was, as all the points met up in harmony. Id realized he was now merging back with the other two and it would only be a matter of time before he forgot he existed.
It was only some complex dream, subconsciously rendered for ESP derailment, but now the crash course was over and Project returned to the door at which he started. It was now obvious the door itself was still the same, but this time Project took one last deep breathe, as he was then, before he swung with all his might through the door.
