Ok, I'm about 45min into this movie and I must ask, is this going anywhere?
It keeps making allusions between biblical events and astrological ones like it is some earth-shattering profound deal. I don't believe in Christianity or the Bible, but what is it getting at?

The first part is basically claiming that Christianity borrows from previously established religions (which is very true - political figure heads would integrate different cultural celebrations into their own religion in order to assimilate conquered people's and make them more comfortable with their new religion). Being neither Christian nor religious, I still found it to be very interesting.
The next two thirds of the film go on to criticize many aspects of the 'War on Terror', and American government policy. It's definitely a great piece to spark debate and awareness. Don't assume anything to be completely true, though - from either end of the spectrum.

The fact is, irregardless of anybody's view on religion, the first part of Zeitgeist is a big lie, based on made up data by new-age sources who have no source for their own claims. While there is supposedly an "Egyptologist" in Zeitgeist's sources (who is the originator of the ideas in Part 1 of Zeitgeist), Gerald Massey, in reality he was not a professional Egyptologist, but merely held a personal interest in Egyptian mythology and was self-taught in reading hieroglyphics. He was also a practicing Druid.
Here is the big fallacy of Zeitgeist:
Quote:
However, if one takes the time to read the sources provided, they will find that what is being presented is based on documented evidence.
The sources provided aren't themselves based on any documented evidence, but is essentially junk literature. The Egyptian Book of the Dead is itself at odds with Zeitgeist every step of the way. You see, when Zeitgeist's disclaimer suggests that you research the issue for yourself, what it actually means is "read the new-age books we prescribe," not "verify the authenticity and source of our sources." Doing so reveals there to be no integrity in Zeitgeist's part 1.

Yeah, the 9/11 part especially is complete bullshit. Zeitgeist is full of so many fundamental logical errors it makes me want to cry.
Presenting a bunch of suspicious facts in rapid succession does not an argument make.

Exactly.

I watched all of it.
It did present a lot of interesting info, but I suspect much of it was bs. The way some of the information was presented was really juvenile. Especially in that scene where they were mentioning how the twin towers were blown up with explosives. They kept repeating shots of New Yorkers repeating the word "explosion" as if there was some significance as to why they used that word.
Of course you're going to say something exploded. If I was buying some potatoes or taking a browse at the nearby radioshack and a 3 mile high building suddenly just gave out, I would say I heard an explosion too.
