Anyone ever communicate with their body while tripping?

I remember reading one lucid dreaming journal where someone talked to a character that symbolized their chronic headaches, and somehow reached an agreement where that character wouldn't terrorize them anymore. Supposedly they never had a headache again. Who knows how true it is, but it sounds interesting.
Anyone ever experience something like this?

Maybe they were stress-induced and by 'talking' themselves out of it they were better able to manage\compartmentalize the stimulus they were having to deal with and consequently what seems like a physical malady comes down to a new psychological approach.
Zen monks are able to regulate their heart rates and blood pressures and things consciously though, so I'm sure certain surprising feats are possible.

For that one fraction of a second, you were open to options you'd never considered. That's the exploration that awaits you...not mapping stars and studying nebulae... but charting the unknowable possibilities of existence. To carry yourself forward and experience myriad things is delusion. That myriad things come forth and experience themselves is awakening. -Dogen Zenji
