yes some sponsors sell scales..
ebay is not bad as long as you get one with a calibration weight.. i've gotten plenty there for $0.01 - $10.00 plus $5.00 - $10.00 shipping, i've got them that weigh .1g x 500g, .01g x 50g, and .001g x 10g and they all weigh spot on with my old $100.00 scale so long as i calibrate them and replace batteries every so often...
I've actually got about 7 scales... but those three are the ones i use... i didn't pay over 20 bucks (shipping included) for any of them

just make sure you get the size that your scales calibration instructions call for..
i don't buy scales unless it comes included...
although i don't need to buy scales these days, like i said i've got plenty, but i am known to give them out as gifts to friends

one of my scales doesn't need to be calibrated, ever.. seems weird but there's no calibration button haha, and it's always dead on accurate. On the other hand my other scale needed to be calibrated every week it seemed like, until I dropped it and it broke.

Well, you don't really need a calibration weight, just know that at US nickel weighs exactly 5 grams.

I use a cheap-as-sin chinese-style balance-beam scale, and calibrate it with coins as they have a fixed and accurate weight. It weighs up to 10g in [supposedly] .01g increments. I only trust it to .05g however. It works fairly well for my needs, and I can rely on it every time.
For larger measurements, I have an analouge kitchen scale that weighs up to 500g in 5g increments. Basically I use it for solely for homebrewing at the moment, but hopefuly a large enough grow will come along in the future
A digital would be nice however...
