:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

I get mine from bulbs.com, they were the cheapest purveyor of rare and exotic fluorescents. In my case I needed a 24" F17T8 bulb that had a 6500K (daylight) color temperature.

Remember you have to match the ballast type T8/T12/etc. as well as the wattage F17/F18/F32 of your bulbs to your ballast or you'll create a serious fire-harzard. You can't put an F24T8 in an 18 watt ballast, even if it fits... bad mojo-jojo there...

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

oh...

a light bulb sized one...

not sure.

I just use either 2 foot of 4 foot tubes.

the ballast for the 2 foot one costs $7.
the ballast for the double 4 foot one costs $9.

quite cheap if you ask me.
worth it.
