all the chords are played on a 6 string bass, as is the bass line. the rest is computer generated.

Very cool. I like it. It needs a little high end, some treble. Put some guitar lines in there. The bass lines are awesome though.

Interesting song.
Feedback: As some other people said, I kept wanting to hear some highs on the percussion. Its so low, which is cool for an intro but it would have been really satisfying if something else joined in that took care of the highs. (even a bongo or something...)
The baseline is really cool but it gets lost in the mix. (tho this could be do to my shitty headphones...they have a special way of killing the lower end) But its also good to keep shitty headphones in mind while mixing. Cut out a little more room so it stands out a little more.
Vocals are ok. I like the harp Melody...
Overall: I think its a pretty good track. It could still use some work but at this point in the process, you kind have to do your own thing and complete whatever you were going for. If it was me, I would add a little more to the frost soundscape and maybe put in some more percussion. (but I really don't do a whole lot of this kind of music)
Good luck!

I agree with Toddo, it needs some treble in there, and i feel like the vocals get lost in the back ground track. I had huge issues with this when i was just starting to record.
Otherwise, way to go man, any song is an accomplishment

I think it sounds pretty fuckin smmmoooooooothhhhhh....
Very moody, nice shift into a mystical feeling, with the drums seeming almost tribalish..... I can close my eyes and see a "Mind's Eye" video..... The vocals have nice harmonies, in good taste.... Overall, very mature sounding, and clean sounds.... Impressive.....
For it to be "perfect" for me, it needs some clean chorused guitar with some nice echoes - maybe to offset the harp(?), and/or to dance/answer with it.... Chordal notes here and there, leading into a melody "theme" when the singing pauses.... These things I have listed are not things it needs for you, they are things I hear in my head, in my style....
Lookin forward to hearing more....

Well done automan!
Nice mellow moods and sounds, good vocals too, very relaxing (don't think they get lost in the background. The bass sound, which is great gets a little lost though (good bassline too!)
some feedback (in a way how I would like to see things, personally) -A little more of the high frequencies, even just in the harp like chord, just to outrise the vocals. And maybe cut the lows a little in the background chord sounds/pads to make the bassline stand out more. besides that you could also boost it's volume a little. overall the mix is already nice, it's just my critical ear that gives this comment;) -the drums (a kick?) sound a little 'dry'. maybe you could give 'em a little more low end for a warmer fuller sound, also cut the mids just a little. a tiny highhat and a bongo here and there would perfectly complement the perscussion imo!(on a second listen I think I hear a bongo... maybe EQ a little to make it's sound more distinct) -if you want to get 'crazy' at some points some smooth high strings in the background could be great, or/and like someone said, a lush chorused guitar.
well 3 listens later meanwhile... still like the song, even more. If you decide to change anything make sure to update us! or if you have other songs to share:D
