Michigan Mushroom ID

A friend picked a large bag of these while camping and asked me to help him ID them. I'm not very hopeful, but it doesn't hurt to see.
Pictures:

Location: Flat ground under fallen leaves in Northern forest of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Guess: Closest thing it resembles seems to be Gymnopilus junonius which does grow in Michigan.
Spore Print: Never done one, but I've got those caps sitting on the paper, I'll update if I manage to get one.

those don't look healthy enough to eat... a rotten magic mushroom will make you as sick as a rotten non-magic edible.
only you get the benefit of tripping and puking. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

So there seems to be very little agreement on whether or not these are poisonous/dangerous/edible/active. Recommendations?

pinheads point was that even if they were actives (which they are not) they shouldnt be consumed as they look propper rank... if u were given a piece of fruit in that poor condition i doubt u would eat it...

just pop an upturned cup or similar vessel over the mushies being printed, and they'll leave you a lovely spore print. can be done on tinfoil or paper. you see, you've got to shelter 'em so the air currents don't send their precious sporebabies fluttering away.

As Alan said, Hygrocybe. In general, they are not poisonous and, with very few exceptions, not worth eating for any reason. Definitely not active. Those particular ones I wouldn't even consider eating.
Happy mushrooming!
