So Like, No More Pot?

Well, I'm stopping smoking tomorrow, for a limited time.
I'll finish up all of my classes in December, so I'll just be doing research next year, and so I have the chance to work a full time job for awhile and get some of my often chaotic finances into some semblance order.
I'm sure that most of the jobs I would like are going to ask for a drug test. I know I could beat these tests fairly easily, but I really dont want to have to worry about carrying a bag of piss around with me for a few months.
So no smoking. Its kind of funny, because I have better connections than most people, and I cant tell people I wont hook them up. Is that environment conducive to quitting? Probably not, but my willpower is generally pretty strong.
I have a couple more grams to get rid of tonight, and I've been baked all day. I love it. I really do.
But shit, if I cant stop for a few months, I'm a moron.

well dude, im in the same position as you are. im about to either go to jail or be on probation for X amount of time. im wanting to quit smoking before i go to court so just incase at my preliminary they ask me to piss in a cup. i have no idea what to expect there. quitting smoking weed is pretty difficult, sadly. especially if youre used to doing it multiple times a day every day. i say if your gonna quit, quit. dont go through the trouble of hooking someone up if youre not gonna get to smoke any of it. its a temptaion, avoid it as much as possible. i wish you good luck, sir.

Well, I make alot of money. Its not just out of the goodness of my heart.
I dont think it will be that hard. We'll see.

Fuck hooking other people up unless your making a profit and if you are then its up to you whats more important the temptation to smoke or the money?

Stopping to get a job is a gr8 idea...why mess it up? I can understand the desire not to stop though. They say it's not addictive but when it's there it kinda calls to ya... hee hee
N-joy using it up. The best way not to use it is not to have it there. So you'll be drinking socially I suppose.
Hang in there. Good luck with everything! Let us know when you get a job. I hope your boss will be supportive and encouraging. It can happen.

I so dont like to drink, compared to smoking herb.
If pot was legal, I'd probably never drink.

Same here, only "rarely" not never.

I agree. To compare alcohol with weed is like comparing polyester to silk. It does a job but the quality ain't the same. Gimme silk every time.

Hey madtown. I quit smoking for awhile while hooking people up. Its not that hard to resist. Just remember what you're doing it for and you'll persevere. Good luck anyway.

well I wish you luck. Personally I haven't smoked in over 3 months. I do plan on starting again someday when I am done with school...It will be a once a week thing though, not like it use to be. I don't think I can go back to the stoner lifestyle where your stoned all day every day. Pot loses its magic.

I as of tomorrow am quiting buds as well. I said I was going to quit and have reduced my smoking tremendously in the last few weeks. However.. in the last week or so I've started to relapse and have began smoking again.
As of tomorrow I quit . I'm also going to quit drinking for a while as well..
I'm just gonna smoke this one last bowl, first.

I am not quitting pot because I smoke it once a week or so. I AM quitting cigs though. Because they are nasty for me physically, mentally and affect the way people perceive me. I am a regular fri-sat drunk. Strictly weekend business.

During H.S. my friends and I were basically week-end tokers. School came first...then we hit the downtown Toronto Rocky Horror P.S. and wowza! Haa hah ha... That's how I saw The Last Waltz...when it was shown before and after R.H. P. S.. I sat through all three. My sister and her boyfriend joined me for the middle and last (Waltz that is... lol)
Whatta blast!
I hardly smoked in college cuz of the need to be awake for class...it keeps me up like mushrooms. After missing a few classes and getting chastised by a jr. administrator...(do you believe that?) I cut out most all smoking illegal stuff and only smoked cigarettes rarely.
Got my degree and hold a good job where NO one but one turned-on tuned-in parent of a past student knows what's flying with me and I NEVER verbalized an agreement to it. Just admitted seeing Rocky Horror like she did and we kinda left it at that.
Now I smoke 2-3 hits a night but not on nights that I'm very needed by the kids like if someone is ill or my daughter is in labour. See my journal posting for the pic of me w/ my 1st grandchild..less than a week old man! Gotta love her!
