Fresh Hpoo

Here's what I did, and my small sample is working great the myc are eating it up. I have a huge mess of fresh(green) Hpoo, which I have been told is worthless. So I went to work---- I hard rinsed 40lbs of the fresh Hpoo in a plastic container with many(hundreds) holes drilled in for draining. After about 6 good rinses I mixed it in with a 40lb bag of store bought composted cow manure(cheap brand) then let it sit in a tumbler compost bin for about 10 days. I used a marble size piece of grain myc put it in a plastic dish with about one cup of the manure mix(pasteurized, actually PC'd about 20mins at 10lbs) and 1 week in everything appears to be going great, the myc is colonizing very well. Sorry no pics but I'm working on it.

And even higher if you sterilize instead of pasteurize, as you kill off beneficial bacteria

I realize the potential for contams with fresh poo, that's why I PC'd my sample instead of doing a legit pasteurization. I am trying to get a tek together so fresh Hpoo can be used for bulk sub. For me it's easier getting the fresh Hpoo because the farmers throw everything together in their compost piles and I don't like the looks of it and it smells too ammonia. I like the idea of using a store bought composted manure too. If this all comes together it seems it will be a pretty easy bulk sub. for anyone to get together. I'm a dreamer.

Once you have washed it a few times, set it out to dry on a tarpaulin for a week and it will be dry and aged, or at least older.

Correct me if I'm wrong and I usually am. But isn't the reason you want aged Hpoo is because of the washout(leeching out the high nitrogen content) that occurs while sitting in the field? So what is the difference if I perform the washout?

Yeah, firefang. I'm just looking for a way of bypassing the "aged" part. It may not work. In retrospect I think a reason why the mix is working is because of the addition of store bought composted manure. I'm not smart enough to figure if the "beneficial bacteria" are so important. Sterilized manure does grow myc. I'm looking for answers to try and make this work. It may not, but wouln't it be great if you could just go by a 40lb bag of composted manure, add some "prepared" Hpoo, and have a good bulk sub.?

i didnt think you needed aged poo if you were going to be leeching it.
