i have 3 fully colonized aluminum trays of cased B+ substrate that i birthed about a week ago...

i used a brown rice/verm mixture and then re-colonized with wheat grain before finally moving the substrate into the batch trays and casing them with a peat/lime mixture... it took a little bit longer than i expected for the casing to fully colonize (i feel like this whole process has taken longer than expected-- it took me a month and a half for my 1/2 pints to colonize) but they smelled fresh and earthy and had a nice layer of fluffy white myc.

three or 4 days after birthing, not seeing any activity, i started fanning them once a day to circulate the o2, thinking that the problem may lie with carbon build up. i have a monotub setup with polyfil veltilation holes to help with the carbon exchange. they are exposed to a small amount of ambient light on a consistant basis throughout the day. i checked their hydration, but upon looking closely, there is a fine mist of condensation around the area that the casing layer meets the aluminum, which i feel is a decent amount-- not too much but not too little. i have kept them at temperatures between 68-72 degrees, which i understand is fairly mid-range for b+ spores.

i was wondering if there is anything that i should be worried about with the fruiting taking this long? i still haven't seen any pinheads and no pinheads developed in the pint or bulk substrate jars before i cased them.

this is my first grow attempt, and although i've done a fairly extensive amount of research i'm still somewhat of a newbie to the whole thing....
