Pics - Some sort of Amanita

Found these in my back yard, under a pine tree (Southeastern Pennsylvania). There are a ton of buttons all around, but only these and two others are mature right now. I think it's an Amanita, but I don't know what kind. Any guesses?

I've added pics to posts before, but it doesn't seem to be working. The picture LOOKS like it's going to appear, like the image box appears in the post, but then that goes away and is replaced by text. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

beautiful pictures...
definitely amanitas, but i'm not sure what species.
my guess is either amanita gemmata or the yellow varitey amanita muscaria i don't know if those count as "scales" at the base or not though, and that patterning on the stem is not exactly consistent with muscaria.
any experienced amanita-philes?

Right, don't eat them. Many Amanitas are poisonous and you should never eat any mushroom you have not ID'ed with 100% confidence.

Thanks for the compliments. Most praise goes to my camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 point-and-shoot, $250, if you're in the market), and the rest goes to the setting sun.
I live in Pennsylvania, which I've heard called "the mushroom capital of the US," but that only refers to commercial cultivation. The only actives I've ever found have been some extremely tiny ones that grow out of moss. A Slovakian nomad showed them to me but I've never heard anyone refer to them, nor have I been able to identify them in any field guides. They're definitely active though... but you probably have to eat about 500 of them to have a good trip. I'll post some pics of them when they're up.

please do, they sound pretty interesting.
i would always steer clear of eating any amanita, unless you're specifically looking for the muscaria experience. even then, i would recommend some serious research first...
it's not just making sure you've got a muscaria and not a deadly lookalike, it's knowing what you're getting yourself into. amanita muscaria are not psilocybin/psilocin containing mushrooms, and as such the experience is vastly different (not to mention the special preparation they require).
keep hunting & you'll find what you're looking for! [and keep the tasty posts coming]
