What spiritual reminder is most useful to YOU?

Out of the countless volumes of spiritual history we have written down through the ages, I'm asking, which notion helps you, advances you, strengthens you, lately?
For me, its the second noble truth "the origin of suffering is attachment," or "clinging is suffering." Its a reminder to let go. This clinging happens outside of my awareness, so when I become aware of excess anxiety, I think "clinging is suffering, so let go" and it works.
So for you, at this moment in your development, what helps you?

I want to able to believe in something greater than myself. To truly do that and let no physical pain or barriers come between. I feel this picture is the greatest example of such.

-------------------- So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

That's cool. Just FYI, you don't need to be on fire to have a good meditation session and transcend the stress of your body and mind

I like this question, makes me review what things have had an influence on me lately. For a while it was the thought that we only ever experience our own nervous system. Just remembering this lets me let go of whatever thought is pulling me away from being centered. I think somewhere I read that this was one of Buddha's teachings but I am unsure exactly where I heard it, its useful for me which is the important thing to me tho. =]
Also I have been watching Nithyananda videos on You-tube, and I really enjoy a "technique" he speaks about where you always think "How would a liberated being (or your favorite spiritual influence) would react to this thought", I have found this useful recently.

Sometimes i'm stuck in darkness only to find myself wishing for things that will never come.
Like i'm dreaming of becoming something that will never happen.
So yes, I need to let go and live in the now and don't worry about things so much.
I must find myself again and again.

I know this - truth is like 1=1.1=1 is balance the universe is true. The universe is balance, aswell. No, not balanced, balance. Balance is what connects the balanced and the imbalanced. Nothing is left undone, nothing is left to be done. Balance.

If singing folk songs gets you there (or here, rather, or wherever YOU want to be), then that's what's best for you. There isn't one better than any other.
It's like... all of civilization circling around a mountain (God or whatever else you want to say it is). Some people see different sides and views of the mountain, but it's still the exact same mountain.

we were not here discussing which mantra is better. We are here discussing the mantra or AKA life lesson, that brings your experience to peace, tranquility. The avatar shows, your frame of mind, though know that those things which are better need what is worse, they mutually share importance, because they lie in the wake of eachother.

"OK, but is Sanskrit closer to The Creator than English? "
Your questions are full with assumptions and like most questions that pose an either/or spectrum of answere is mis-lead. Firstly, you believe we were talking about better way and now you believe we are debating which is closer god and gathering from all i could see, noone has made any distinctions of this kind.
Maybe your mind is obssesed with better or worse, we all work ways that we think are best, this is true and makes thing spicy but sometimes it can make things down right to hot to handle.
I would suggest you try to slow your assumptions down and clear up what anyone says first, by asking them to clear it up generally, instead of asking them to distinguish between two things, in which this case they never began to distinguish from.
It might lighten the load. Ps. Do you ever feel like you need some internal guidence? And if u do, what guides you into truth? JLM

Like Cherokee said, You can't stay on the bank and watch it all go by when the life of your 2-year old is threatened.
Right--you have to walk the middle path--to see how sacred and utterly important everything is, while also seeing that its all just a game. Not easy to do.
I don't interpret "letting go" as inaction. You don't let go of responsibility, or compassion, you let go of egoic clinging.
The way I see it, grasping/clinging arise from fear--the fear of death, the death of self-identy, the ego, which is an illusion and a a useless, harmful one too. So the more fear one retains, the more they're cling to established thought patterns and behavior, the more inclined they'll be to freeze and panic rather than take immediate action and save the child.

Post deleted by jackeheartReason for deletion: I mistook this post for something it was not, sorry.
-------------------- What boundlessness the pit of consciousness travels toward an infinite being. The cave is full of tumultuous obstacles, webs seemingly inescapable. There lies the path of knowledge forming thick and thin quantum fluctuations of living operations. And its inescapable quality of beauty is far beyond the reflection of its depths. Further I fall diving head first downwards into a black hole, plunging with intension to ascension.
