Hi there Everyone, What a great forum i must say !! OK i Bought 4 myco bags and amazon , golden teacher + treasure coast spores, i firstly done the amazon into 2 bags, i forgot to burn the syringe and use the wipe on the black rubber, but used the alcoholic wipe on the syringe so maybe that was my first error. the second 2 bags i manged to burn the needle and wipe both the black rubber on the bag and the needle. and mixed 2 strains in one bag caus my needle had been pressed in already in the box only had half a cc left, also the first 2 bags i only injected 1 cc into it half on one side of the bag and half on the other, then the last 2 bags i injected more into them about 2cc's . my main concern is, i live in the UK its cold, i have put them into a airing cupboard with a shitty little boiler in there, temperature changes have managed to monitor temperature yet might do that later, my questions are, does this sound like i fucked up already? can disturbing the inoculation with light 2days later or maybe more fuck the process up? the temperature change in the airing cupboard will this fuck it up? like whats the coldest and hostest it should be in there? what can i do, to make sure this works better, any free techniques ? as i dnt have no money ATM to go get heat mats etc, should i have injected more cc into the bags or will this be enough? any tips or any help would Be soo much appreciated Thanks!! alot!!!!

I've been having some of the same thoughts. My thought was, maybe an electric blanket, not ON but maybe near the jars would be sufficient heat. You could hook it up to a temperature cutoff switch. Again, this is my first grow so I don't know but the only thing I see wrong is you didn't sterilize the needle before the first bag. That might pose a problem but if you hit it with alcohol it's better than nothing. I have NO clue about mixing strains. Was kinda one of my questions. What happens when two mycellium from two different strains meet? Portabellas with powers? Shittake shit-faced? Who knows?

1, depending on the size of the bag (which is most likely much more than 1/2 - 1 pint) 1-2ccs is not near enough. it's going to take longer to colonize which increases chances of contams taking over the substrate before the mycellium 2, "can disturbing the inoculation with light 2days later or maybe more fuck the process up?" you already did the inoculation. you mean incubation? and no, light won't mess anything up. 3, how drastic is the temperature change? you want it at a temp that's comfortable enough for you to wear a t-shirt in and not be cold. 72-80 F. 4, "what can i do, to make sure this works better, any free techniques ?" read. then read more. then go re-read the stuff you read. then go back and read some more. and go to the shroomery irc server and ask questions.
-------------------- please do not take everything i say here so personally. welcome to teh internets!

Fuck!!! i aprecate your response's , ok in the fridge i have amazon spores left and and treasure coast and stuff, not sure i can identify wich bag was what, but you reccon i should put more spores in each bag, its 3 days later of injecting the bags. And about mixing strains apparntly all my spores are all cubensis anyways? treasure coast amazon golden teacher etc, so the mycellium wont fight each other they will work together am i right???
ok so isit worth me injecting more soultion in the bags? If So How Much?

Research before you waste money and supplies.
Shit, I've been reading this forum every day for months and still haven't attempted a grow yet. But when I do start one I'll be damn sure I know what I'm doing.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?
