I've only seen the sample footage on youtube but plan on getting it too very soon.
If you read through the threads you'll see RR gives good quality information and as he seems an experienced grower I don't doubt that he's very thorough with his explanations. Most people would only use one or two teks and RR seems to give instruction one multiple fronts.
I'm new to the forums but I've been a reader for some time now. I say go for it!

It's a great way to set your basis for learning on something so informative. Whether just starting off or getting more advanced, it's a great thing to take up the habits of knowledgeable growers. If you start with good habits, then you won't have to worry about breaking the bad ones later

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

Here's the bottom line, in my humble opinion...
Some people learn by reading, some people learn by doing but everyone can benefit by _watching_ it be done. It takes all ambiguity out of the interpretation of the written word or a misunderstand of a given picture because it shows the various processes start to finish.
And whether you appreciate the content or not, you have to at least respect the time, effort and money that went into the production of the content. Having been a part of a co-authored technical manual on .NET development I can tell you that there's very little money to be had in this line of work. Considering it's very niche market, he's going to be lucky to break even on the cost of production.
Is owning/watching it going to teach you everything you'll ever need to know about mycology? No. But if you want to get a huge leg up on your technique or want to branch out into more, otherwise-considered, advance topics such as cloning it will definitely be worth the small investment.
I guess the best way to look at it is this...
Is $50 more or less money that you've wasted on "bad investments" in gear or failed previous experiments and could the $50 potentially save you from making further bad investments and/or wasted materials on failed future experiments.
--------------------
Don't mistake my tone for a "matter-of-fact" attitude. I'm just presenting what I believe to be correct, until I'm corrected... - How Myco-Curious Prepares Coir & Compost Substrates - How Myco-Curious Builds A Bulk Humidifier - How Myco-Curious Builds An Automated Greenhouse ------------------------------------ figgusfiddus said: Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

Knock off the flaming people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if the majority disagree. I think RogerRabbit has done a great job with his DVD and I think many people have been helped by its release.
If you folks continue the flame fest, I will have no choice but to close this thread and take administrative action against the offending parties. Please don't force me to take such an action against you. Thank you.

I apologize for getting backs up. I guess I should utilize the ignore function more often.
And to answer your question dumbfounded....RRs videos are worth every penny. What's more, if you read a few of his posts you will quickly recoup all of your money and then some. Before you drop some serious cash on some trendy myco toy or procedure, hear what he has to say about it. When a veteran of his caliber says it isn't necessary...don't waste your money...believe him.

No, not the whole set, but 1/2 the set, or one of the 2 DVDs are about PF cakes.
He won't sell only the DVD that might help, it has to include one nobody needs but a fool!

Only one small little section of disc 1 has to do with cakes, and there is another disc. There's also another DVD in the works I believe.
Quit judging, why don't you just watch the videos? Maybe you will learn something.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. A very small section, 1 to be exact, focuses on the PF Tek. The bulk of these 2 DVDs cover many topics and are beneficial on more than one level. For those of you looking to do small grows, this DVD is for you. For those of you looking to do bulk grows, this DVD is for you. For those of you looking to do strain isolation/cloning, this DVD is for you.
I think you can see where I'm heading here.

i have learned a great deal from the roger rabbit videos. sometimes it takes a while to get the technical information to sink in to this thick skull of mine. having the videos on hand, and being able to watch them when you need a bit of expertise, comes in handy. so far, Ive been able to replicate the procedures with hardly any failure. roger rabbit's repetition of proper sterile lab methods keeps you from veering off the straight and narrow path. just my two cents, from a noobie who has adopted this mycology thing as his newest hobby with gusto.

Plus, you'll get to a point where you'll have more cubensis than you need. The second cd gives you information about how to grow other mushrooms.
The free low quality videos on his site provide enough info to grow cubes--that's a free gift to everyone. If you want more info, the 2-cd set is invaluable.
Upon reflection, your post is insulting... so suck my dick you filthy little whorebag.
