Amanita ID please

I found these today under some pines and oaks on an esplinade (median), and from my best guess they're Amanita rubenescens, which are listed as edible, but I'm not about to chance it without a positive ID.
There were some with a bit lighter caps without warts, but they still bruised reddish, and some with browner caps with warts that looked the same in all other aspects.
I didn't exactly dig up the bases, but dug down where I found the first three and found volva around the bottom of the stipe. The others I found about 50-75 yards away, and they weren't in the ground as deep as the first ones, and left a little divot where the bases were when I picked them.
Spore print is white, and yes, I did actually print these... gills are white, stipe is white with ruddy bruising especially around the lower portion of the stipe, bulbous base, annulus is large and membranous on many specimens. Striate margin.
Pics

I'd really like to try these out if they're what I think they are, but I don't wanna die, either.
Any help would be very appreciated.

yes you have an amanita in the Rubescens complex, that is the great resemblance, did you notice a sticky surface here is call mantecoso for the oily surface,, well all the feature you mention indicate Rubescens, does grow in your area, is a good edible but you have to cooked very well , it have hemolisins that are destroy by heating .also the volva of this species is very characteristic, is more like a enlarge Base, with a rhomboid shape, it bruise a lot of reddish colors as your , i will say you make a good id .....

Looks good!
"European Amanita rubescens is known to contain a hemolytic poison in its raw state; it is unknown whether North American A. rubescens and A. novinupta are similarly toxic in its raw state. This toxin is destroyed by cooking."

I'm afraid of Amanitas bad experience with muscarine poisoning from Muscaria var.formosa from S.Ontario. Now I just admire them from afar. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH AMANITAS!!!!

I'm having some stomach problems today which are not related to these mushrooms... so I've decided to not eat them. I'm damn positive of my ID now, after looking them up online and seeing the different morphologies. I had about three different morphologies in the same patch... it's crazy how much they can vary.
The description I read listed the flavor as mild with an acrid aftertaste. Acrid? Doesn't sound worth the risk or trouble.
At least I made a positive ID of a new (to me) species. Cross one more find off my list.
thanks alot for the help, guys. If I find some again and I'm not having digestive issues, I might try 'em at that point.
