Panaeolus subbalteatus? ID!
    #7591463 - 11/03/07 03:16 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I found them in a park with some taken care of lawn/manure in it. They look darkish at the top with a ring of either darker or lighter brown. Some of them look bluntly cone shaped. The stem is hallow in all of them if you look in. I was thinking Panaeolus subbalteatus, other known as subs, what do you think?

to me they look promising, im sure you will get better replies in no time though, the stem looks like it should too, at least according to what I have read. Hopefully they are pan subbs

The funny thing is where i found them! It was a park that recently got closed for construction. And there was some woodchips laid long ago. The grass grew over them. There was so many to pick that i left there. I must have a whole grocery bag full!

Those are Psathyrella. Not Panneaolus.

Actually, I'm not sure. But if they are Psathyrella, they are not psychadelic.

You need to post a better description, including a spore print.

I know for a FACT that it's not that. It doesn't even resemble it one bit. But looking at subs and back at mine look 1/1 alike. I also live in Pennsylvania. I am spore printing them now.

100% Psathyrella Velutina, or a variant thereof of Psyatharella. You may think in your head whatever you want to believe but those are definitely tinas'

Also the spore prints came out Purple to a dark blue or black.

I know these have already been ID'd, but if you're looking for pan subbs, you need to check out subbedhunter's guide.

Those are WAY too large to be typical pan subbs. (no comments from curecat, please... ya braggart! ) You're looking for something about the size of a quarter or smaller. I've only found one that was anywhere close the size of what you have there.

No, I just know what they aren't... they aren't subbs and they aren't psychoactive.
