9/11 Conspiracy Poll
#7591031 - 11/03/07 01:08 PM (16 years, 2 months ago) |
|
|
Hopefully self-explanatory. I'm not looking for any debate or much discussion of the events themselves (there are many threads existing right now for that), but I am interested in, overall, what people are thinking to themselves right now about the whole situation.

what exactly do you mean by 'responsible for'?
because I personally believe that Islamic fundamentalists carried out the attacks, but I also believe that they were afforded the opportunity by people very high up in our government.
so, in a way, I choose both the 1st two options...

The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve." - Tom Morello

many Al Quaida members were funded and trained by forces within the US Government to work to the advantage of the USA. This backfired and they attacked the USA instead. Even in this scenario where the Islamic terrorists did it, forces within the US Gov't are still at fault.
Even if the US Govt did nothing, they did not prevent it which makes them partly responsible even if they couldn't help their incompetence.
So voila, faulty poll.

Sorry, I should have made it possible to select more than one option. You're of the opinion that the elites were aware of what was going to happen but utilized it to their advantage rather than defend. Like, Pearl Harbor creating an excuse to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

What about the option that Elvis and Santa came down from outer space to wire up the buildings with thermite and explosives and then drove his pink Cadillac into the side of the Pentagon.

yeah, its really not that binary. There's a whole spectrum of opinion on the matter.
I personally don't like being lumped in with Alex Jones just because I believe that the government might have had advance knowledge of the attacks but purposefully did nothing to prevent them. I mean, I certainly don't dispute that the WTC collapsed for any other reason than a plane hit it. But that doesn't mean I buy the official story either.
so yeah, bunk poll

I realize that its not possible to capture every point of view in a poll, but I'm not so much interested in who is right or wrong, but to see how much division of opinion actually exists concering the topic. I choices are generalized forms of what appears to be the most 'mainstream' perspectives on the subject.

I think Al Qaeda planned the attack, but I also happen to think the US government probably had a much better idea of what was going on than they've admitted.

Building 7
You can't demolish an entire building and steels with a fire. Thats enough evidence in its own right.
How did Islamys do that? The 9/11 commission offers no answers either.

I don't think regular demolition procedure was used. Firefighters describe molten steel being present at the site (fire may weaken steel, but it isn't going to create what the described as "molten lava") and there are other indications that thermite/thermite reactions were used, which would be capable of creating that molten metal as well as elimite the long setup time required for a 'normal' demolition.

I believe the government knew about the attack weeks to months in advance, they knew that it wouldn't do that much damage, so they lined the buildings with explosives. It explains everything, extreme Islamic fundamentalism as well as Neocon ambitions for "democracy" in the Middle East.
And the "incompetency" of the intelligence community is a clever guise.

Well, some of the videos out there claim there was mysterious goings-on weeks before the attack.
Mysterious construction work, entire levels cordoned off...
I don't know man. I think some level of collusion definitely took place though.

Too incompetent to plan it, but too much of a police state to not know it would happen.
I don't understand 9/11 conspiracy theorists. The U.S. government cannot plan or do anything correct, but they could stage 9/11? If the government planned it, it wouldn't go as planned; the American people have one of the most incompetent governments in the world.

I believe al quaida may be responsible. But I also believe that there's a lot more to it than that. There is for sure secret society's ,and a paticular society (of jesus) especially working behind the scenes on this one, and ultimately an even more secret society.

The U.S elites probably help pay for the attack, knowingly, because they wanted war.

What can we do though? We are, atleast most of us, dependent on their infrastructure for survival. When we participate in society, when we support the slave labor clothing, when we buy that pack of smokes, when we pull into the McDonald's drive through, we are literally turning the gears of their machine. Can't blame the elites entirely.
We (and I) need to have the courage to take responsability for our own (my own) actions.
