Agnostic is about as far from atheist as you can get. One ideology is belief that one knows what the true reality is, the other is belief that one cannot or does not know what the true reality is. Those are complete opposites.

If two objects are spinning in the same direction and they hit each other the objects will slow down. If this keeps happenning the object will eventually be hit so many times that it stops spinning and reverses direction.
Try it on the breakfast table with oranges.
Interesting point....

I've come up with logical explanations of many 'miracles' and tend to not believe in things that are constructions of the human mind (i.e. religion). Everything is debatable, bu I refuse to believe in an all knowing, all powerful hypocrite.

Should have an agnostic option.
What that means to me is that I do not believe in a higher power, but I am open to the possibility.
To me, an Atheist is an even more conceited person than a religious nut. Its one thing to say that you believe in God, even though there is absolutely no evidence that he exists. Its another to say that you KNOW that there is no God/Gods. You cannot, by definition, have proof of this.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

We can't PROVE anything about god but we can pretty much say an ALL KNOWING being doesn't exist or is an asshole. Lol an all knowing omnipotent being could stop useless suffering at the snap of his fingers but he doesn't because likely he's either not there.

I'm atheist and I don't claim to KNOW for sure if there is or isn't a god, I'm open to the idea of a divine presence or a godlike being but in my OPINION there has been a lack of evidence for either so I assume from the evidence given one doesn't exist. That doesn't mean just because I don't think there's a god that I'm not open to the idea of one.

He could atleast stop useless
this can be true under the assumption that god is omnipotent and can willfully control every facet of existence.
the idea of a creator might as well be a human personification of an unfolding process that has little to nothing to do with imposing any sort of will onto the world.
food for thought.

by that definition god could have limited powers or could be a poetic expression of just about anything... neither of which we are even close to proving but with a large majority of people believing in an omnipotent being atheism sure looks like the more logical answer

theism and athiesm are two polar opposite belief systems that come to opposite conclusions based on zero evidence IMO.
i strive to find a balance by directly experiencing my world and keeping its horizons open ended.

I'm open to the idea of god, I only consider myself atheist in the sense that there is no intelligent creator.
I'm addicted to reading up on buddhism, toaism, and confucianism.

It sounds to me that you're more Agnostic than Atheist.
A-gnostic = without knowledge.
Meaning that you dont know.
A-Theist = without god.
Implying that you KNOW.

I don't claim to know, nobody KNOWS... its just my opinion. My opinion makes me atheist but my uncertainty reveals that I don't KNOW.
Doesn't that make me a little of both?
