When I'm astral projecting my concious is with my astral body not my physical. It'd be very hard, if not impossible to be active with your physical body while APing, almost any movement can pull you back.
*EDIT: Reread your post and I have no idea what'd you see. I've never AP'ed to a realm that is still visually connected with earth, I always go to deeper realms.

well i mean you can still have out of body experiences in this world. I guess you could do this if you have a mirror in your room and when you go out of body you can just look into it, idk. i have only gone out of body once and it was by luck. Im still trying to get to that state where i have so much energy, that its possible for me to rip out of my physical.

It's not about having so much energy. It's about being so relaxed that your body begins to release DMT thinking you're asleep, while keeping your mind concious.

LOL, i like you. Using my words against me eh??!?!
funny guy, but seriously lol.
i woke up one night form a dream and i felt powerful vibrations. I felt insane energy (very intense vibrations) at the tips of my fingers. i tried channeling more energy into the tips of my fingers and suddenly i felt like all of my body poured out of my fingers with insane velocity. i then suddenly found myself floating in my living room, and it felt so real. I remember not feeling the need to breath, and i remember silence (following intense high pitched sounds). I then saw our cat in the living room walking around, i followed it around. And only then i realized maybe I'm out of body, so i tried heading towards the window to see the view outside. But the closer i got to the window the blurrier everything got and after a few seconds i found myself back in my bed, with my eyes open, and repeatedly saying WTF over and over again.
I remember that when i was out of body it felt REAL like really real real. but everytime i try to think about it it feels like im remembering a dream, but i remember that i felt it was real while it was happening.

ight i woke up in my room once, but it was in a lucid dream, i tried to sit up, but i couldnt so i rolled onto my side, fell off my bed and floated across the floor, next thing im back on my bed like why didnt this just turn into a nightmare? so now i kno im dreamin and i start thinkin bout a girl i like so i can have a wet dream, the thing is i cant seem to think like that, but i can atleast see her before i return back to my lying position,so i turn over pick up a mini football lying on the side of my bed and chuck it at the wall seeing if i could break through to the other side, but it just bounces around. I get another ball that materializes as the other one fades and the same result, so i roll out of bed again, but this time instead of wakin up back in my body im on the ceiling upside down floating looking down. I realize i cant do anythin, then i wake up

Try this. Lie down, be still. Observing, witnessing, keep your mind quiet; turn off all internal chatter. Do not think; become aware to whatever is happening inside and out. Do not question; remain internally silent. Relax your mind; loosen your jaw and let it hang. Keep your eyes closed and begin breathing. Control your breath as if you were to fall asleep; feeling the slight friction in your larynx, a brief inhale and an elongated exhale. Let your mind, soul, and body control this breathing pattern. Give it the start, but let it take over. Be free let go of all your worries, because none there are. Let the trance take you into the astral world; feel love, feel life.
Few key points.
Lie down on your backing facing the sky (Works best on the floor, but a bed will work. Your essentially trying to have your spine perfectly straight)
Have your hands at your sides, palms facing upward.
Try to mimic your sleep breathing-pattern. Keep your jaw completely open (you do not want your upper teeth to touch the lower teeth)
Do not think.
Have fun flying in the cosmos, if you can handle it.
=)

first of all: OBEs are real! i twice experienced "real" OBE and a few while i was in a dream realm.
nevertheless, the experiment with the mirror would be awesome. i heard some reports of people who had seen theirselves in the mirror while tripping out side their body.they had witnessed a silvery glowing energy body.
i will go to the mirror next time i have an OBE...and i will say to my self:'Damn, i´m looking good'

does anyone have any tips on how to slow down my breathing? Everytime i try to mimic my sleep breathing pattern i feel like im choking myself, and i always have a need to breath more. I find that its hard getting deeper into the feeling when im breathing normally. and everytime my thought start to wander off my breathing pattern does change but then i get aware of it and i "need" to breath.

i often find myself in the middle of the night in a half-sleep half-awake situation, in which i drift back and forth between consciousness and the unconscious. i am then overcome with an insane amount of vibration as well as a high-pitched squeal. during this time i often try to go the extra step, but for some reason i cant and i force myself awake. the ringing noise is too loud! can any pros help?

i was in your shoes like two months ago. what i did is just let the ringing overcome me (even if its really loud). The more i let the vibrations and sounds get stronger the more energy i felt. I then tried to channel my energies out of my fingertips (i felt the most power there) and the next thing i knew i was out of body.
Just go deeper into the feeling you have already started to feel, and dont worry about the sound beeing too loud, it cannot harm you in any way. Also avoid having your upper teeth in contact with your lower teeth, it will cause some irritating vibration-caused pain.

Most astral bodies are either invisible to the untrained, normal eye, but if were to be viewed, it would be more of a ghostish apparition, like the silvery color described before. If you were trying to look at yourself, and already in the astral realm, you would most likely see your astral double, which would appear mostly like you, but ghostish, and semi-transparent. I've looked at myself in dreams/lucid dreams, with varying results... lucid dreams function at a different frequency than the astral realms (though they can be used to progress through planes)... I've seen myself, sometimes normal, sometimes very distorted, sometimes seeing other peoples reflections instead of mine in the mirror.
The energy described above is typical of any out of body experience. An out of body experience, is typically known in comparison to 'other' experiences, due to the high frequency, vibration, and high-pitched sounds (imagining this has something to do with dmt production - always made the correlation between the two, as they seem to fit nice and snug together).

It's easier to AP on the floor rather than on a bed in my experience. I think this is because your subconcious knows your on an elevated plane and can fall off, so you tend to have more trouble relaxing your body.
I've never tried not having my teeth touch, I never really work on proper posture for me it's whatever I can do to make my entire body the most comftorable it can get.

What exactly does "Out of body" mean?
Yeah the title explains itself, but when tripping how is it defined and when can you know?
Obviously cause I've never had an Astral-projection experience per se.

that is an interesting question...
while in newzealand last may i was at a commune hostel kinda place and i found a few hundred psilocybe subergnosa out front and needless to say the whole place was tripping for a week. one day i took a rather large dose, it was so intense i didn't smoke a single one of the joints i had pre rolled until about 4 1/2 hrs after ingestion (in fact at about 3 hrs i had stomach cramps and was still tripping hard kinda having the whyd i do this thoughts, at about 4 hrs i started to feel a euphoric afterglow), 4 1/2 hrs in i went out to the communes radio station and smoked 2 nice joints in about 15 mins with Gato a wicked old Brazilian dude that lived down the road but did radio shows all the time, anywho not long after smoking the doobies all the sudden the mushrooms grabbed ahold of me and i went from near baseline to being peeking again in what seemed like 2 seconds
anyways Gato never realy learned english all that good and is a mumbler, so when he said something to me all i heard was jibberish i said "what was that" then everything started to fade to black(since i was a child i have had these fade out episodes were everything goes to black and i get lightheaded and dizzy then after a few seconds everything comes back i and i go wo!)i braced for the usual few seconds of darkness there i stood in a blackout waiting and it didn't go away after like 4 seconds of the dark i mumbled wo i better sit down and as i started to attempt sitting down on the ground i fell back into the radio station and to the ground, as this happened i herd a loud crack then a intense ringing like id just shot my 300magnum hunting rifle but in both ears, and so i was in a void a void of nothing just darkness, i thought shit is this it am i a goner, naw i wana live i cant leave all those people behind this cant be the end, then i opened my eyes and saw Gato standing above me, "wo that was heavy i better go get some water in me" i mumbled. then hallucinated like i was ripped for another 30mins to an hour as i lay on a couch in the radiostatoin listening to Gatos tunes.
any ideas what the fuck that was, ive had OBE from salvia were me and a friend who smoked it with me both went to a train station were we found ourselves on a conveyor belt were some cubic being motioned my papers were not in order which they were shuffling, i then came back and we did the whole omg i you were there i was there bla bla anyways the blackout OBE or whatever was unlike salvia or dmt or dreaming or whatever, any ideas or similar experiences? if i ever get a chance i will definitely try the mirror thing but it seems very unlikely and hard

Well, I've had one OBE in which I was in my bedroom and I looked in the mirror. I looked like shit, I looked so strung out and tired and angry and weak. I believe it was a reflection of my inner state at the time.

its interestingg. a friend of mine said that he read a book that mentioned the mirror thing while out of body. This book said that you will see nothing in teh mirror because the mirror is a part of the physical world, and you(out of body) are jsut observing the physical but are not part of it. Interesting stuff to ponder upon.

I don't understand how can someone think seriouly that when you are in OBE/AP you are observing the real world. If it was possible it would be so easy to prove it...

people are proving it all the time. However there are no facts that one can bring from teh other side to prove it. You prove it to yourself. For example you go into some ones appartment and then when ur in your physical you go back into that place and you see if the whole place looks the same as it did when you were out of body. People prove to themselves that its real all the time.

If it was real, the appartement you went in during an OBE will not just "look the same", it would be exactly the same as the real one. You would be able to give some details about the place that you are not supposed to know. That would be a proof that can be apreciated by other people, not just yourself. It would be easy to setup an experiment that can prove to everybody that OBE are real, without any room for interpretation or self-conviction. But i am not saying that OBE does not exist (i had a few ones). I am just saying that they do not happen in the real world.

well expirements are being set-up but when one is out of body, one has a drive to wonder off in the astral and forget about simple tasks on earth and in the physical.

Noone has really 'proved' that anything you see OOB is actually what exists in the real world. While i'm amazed by the clarity and detail of OOB scenes, there are usually a few key things missing or changed.
That said, there are countless stories of people seeing things that they proved to themselves later were true.
If you look in a mirror its common to see visual distortions of yourself, or waves, some people use mirrors explicitly as 'portals' that take them to a different plane. I've never even seen a mirror... i do have a weird connection to my TV though.

How true is that... you remember saying to yourself 'wow this is so real' at the time but after it happens the memory fades like a dream.

The human brain has an amazing capacity for imagination.
I have had a couple unbelievably "out there" experiences. Experiences that, at the time, I chalked up to the supernatural.
But looking back, I realize that all of them were either due to DRUGS that I had ingested, or DREAMS that were either very lucid or strange. I have also had sleep paralysis on numerous occasions, which, while in the state, can be scary as hell and is most definitely strange beyond words.
To all those who believe in astral projection, etc. here's an opportunity for you to make a million dollars. If you can prove to an objective observer that astral projection is real, a million is yours. All you have to do is be able to read a poster in a room next door that you haven't seen. Can you do it?

I think that its very interesting a few of you mentioned the ringing noise.
http://darklore.dailygrail.com/ scroll down to look at the free sample articles, then pick the third one. (all the way to the right)
its about the sounds people hear with regard to strange experiences.
i'll try to attach it as a file, but i dont know how that will work out
Myself personally, i was meditating to a shamanic drumming CD and as i lay there, i slowly slipped back and forth on the border of dreams and reality. Very very interesting indeed. When i checked the display on the CD Player, there was between 10 and fifteen minutes unaccounted for. I know this because i only intended to listen to "track one" which is 15 minutes long, and when i checked the player, i had not only gone past the silence on the CD between tracks, i had gone a good way into the next drumming patterns.

i'll try to attach it as a file, but i dont know how that will work out
Myself personally, i was meditating to a shamanic drumming CD and as i lay there, i slowly slipped back and forth on the border of dreams and reality.
I didn't read the whole thing but its definitely interesting how so many different experiences of changed consciousness involve buzzing sounds at the initiation. You can't forget DMT of course as well.

I wonder if the DMT induces that buzzing sound.....
