its interestingg. a friend of mine said that he read a book that mentioned the mirror thing while out of body. This book said that you will see nothing in teh mirror because the mirror is a part of the physical world, and you(out of body) are jsut observing the physical but are not part of it. Interesting stuff to ponder upon.

I don't understand how can someone think seriouly that when you are in OBE/AP you are observing the real world. If it was possible it would be so easy to prove it...

people are proving it all the time. However there are no facts that one can bring from teh other side to prove it. You prove it to yourself. For example you go into some ones appartment and then when ur in your physical you go back into that place and you see if the whole place looks the same as it did when you were out of body. People prove to themselves that its real all the time.

If it was real, the appartement you went in during an OBE will not just "look the same", it would be exactly the same as the real one. You would be able to give some details about the place that you are not supposed to know. That would be a proof that can be apreciated by other people, not just yourself. It would be easy to setup an experiment that can prove to everybody that OBE are real, without any room for interpretation or self-conviction. But i am not saying that OBE does not exist (i had a few ones). I am just saying that they do not happen in the real world.

well expirements are being set-up but when one is out of body, one has a drive to wonder off in the astral and forget about simple tasks on earth and in the physical.

Noone has really 'proved' that anything you see OOB is actually what exists in the real world. While i'm amazed by the clarity and detail of OOB scenes, there are usually a few key things missing or changed.
That said, there are countless stories of people seeing things that they proved to themselves later were true.
If you look in a mirror its common to see visual distortions of yourself, or waves, some people use mirrors explicitly as 'portals' that take them to a different plane. I've never even seen a mirror... i do have a weird connection to my TV though.

I remember that when i was out of body it felt REAL like really real real. but everytime i try to think about it it feels like im remembering a dream, but i remember that i felt it was real while it was happening.
How true is that... you remember saying to yourself 'wow this is so real' at the time but after it happens the memory fades like a dream.

The human brain has an amazing capacity for imagination.
I have had a couple unbelievably "out there" experiences. Experiences that, at the time, I chalked up to the supernatural.
But looking back, I realize that all of them were either due to DRUGS that I had ingested, or DREAMS that were either very lucid or strange. I have also had sleep paralysis on numerous occasions, which, while in the state, can be scary as hell and is most definitely strange beyond words.
To all those who believe in astral projection, etc. here's an opportunity for you to make a million dollars. If you can prove to an objective observer that astral projection is real, a million is yours. All you have to do is be able to read a poster in a room next door that you haven't seen. Can you do it?

He's been waiting for years and not a single paranormal enthusiast (of any kind) has been able to demonstrate anything with scientific scrutiny. Hmmmm
You guys know people used to believe in elves, dragons, and fairies right?

In my experience mirrors per-se take you into this water portal, that's in my "O.B.E" though. It's just like this water glass, kinda hard to explain.

I think that its very interesting a few of you mentioned the ringing noise.
http://darklore.dailygrail.com/ scroll down to look at the free sample articles, then pick the third one. (all the way to the right)
its about the sounds people hear with regard to strange experiences.
i'll try to attach it as a file, but i dont know how that will work out
Myself personally, i was meditating to a shamanic drumming CD and as i lay there, i slowly slipped back and forth on the border of dreams and reality. Very very interesting indeed. When i checked the display on the CD Player, there was between 10 and fifteen minutes unaccounted for. I know this because i only intended to listen to "track one" which is 15 minutes long, and when i checked the player, i had not only gone past the silence on the CD between tracks, i had gone a good way into the next drumming patterns.

I didn't read the whole thing but its definitely interesting how so many different experiences of changed consciousness involve buzzing sounds at the initiation. You can't forget DMT of course as well.

I wonder if the DMT induces that buzzing sound.....
