for the past month my house (apartment) has had this ugly. im pretty sure i just dont know what to do about it. every week i clean the shit out of my apt. i clean the kitchen like a meth head who just scored. i sprinkle that shit on the carpet, you know the shit you sprinkle right before you vacuum. i get the pet stuff to cover up odors. then i let that shit sit for about 30 minutes then vacuum twice. then i spray fabreeze over the entire carpet and couches and let that dry. then i light 2 incense and start on the bathroom then do the same in the bedroom. while all this is going on all my clothes, blankets and sheets are in the washer/dryer. after doing all this the smell seems to vanish for a couple of days and then its right back to that weird smell. i know its from my dog pissing on the floor but how do i cover that smell up. im doing what i can by putting her outside as much as possible but since im at work all the time its hard to keep up with this. any tips or ideas would help, besides GET RID OF THE DOG

Seriously.
I bet that at least 75% of dog owners know absolutly NOTHING about how to properly take care of a healthy dog. How old is your dog? How often do you take him/her outside? Is he well behaved? Is he on a routine? Does he get DAILY excersise? Does he listen to you when you tell him what is what?
Maybe if you don't have the time to train him properly, you should give him to somebody that does....

If you are gone so long that the dog can't hold it then you need to make a place for them to go to the bathroom. Those doggie training pads work better than newspaper.
To get rid of pet smells you should try something with citrus. Orange is good but lemon is better. They make a product specifically for pet odor as well.
Don't expect them to be able to hold it all day long. It's not healthy for the pet even if they can do it. Bladder infections are possible with animals too.

i took everything into consideration and decided to take her for a walk and " accidentally let her go". i would much rather have a clean smelling house then a dog. shes only two years old. damn schnauzer, all it wanted to do was run around and play. she was always trying to jump in my lap and give me kisses and i would always wake up with her sleeping right next to me. well anyway she is no longer a problem. thanks for the advice.

If your dog is two and still pissing on things, I would say that you should probably pay a neighbor or a friend to come and walk your dog during the day. Either that or take it to a training school.
I had a shih tzu growing up, and believe me, those things are NOT trainable. Actually, they're pretty damn stupid. They're kind of like fluffy little bricks with a lot of personality. But my mom was a clean freak, and within a year she was housetrained. If someone can get a tiny, yappy dog to stop pissing everywhere, you can get a schnauzer to do it in a couple months with some rigorous and committed training.

You seriously just let her go? TO walk around lost and bewildered? Please tell me you are just fucking with us!
The experts say it is normal to take a year for a dog to be totally housetrained.

I hope you're fucking kidding.
In not, please PM me where you live (at least the town) and I'll contact animal control in your area. Just because you don't know how to properly train a dog doesn't mean that it should be left outside to die because of your carpets smelling. Fuck.

Well, it's sometimes hard to tell through text whether someone is kidding or not. If you need crate training tips, let me know. Also, enzyme cleaner works great on getting the pee smell out of the carpet. But if you crate train your dog you won't have that issue. plus, if the dog pees in the crate, it's an easy clean up.
