Add posts you think are useful

I discovered not long ago that us users can update this site.
So, I have decided that I'd like to add a few pages of stuff that has turned up on these forums in the last couple of years.
It can be teks, informative posts, tips, whatever.
Please post links to any posts you think warrant being on the main site. I'll contact the OP and ask their permission to post it.
Here are some of my personal favourites:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=60&Number=3290155&fpart=&PHPSESSID= ---> Hyphae's Pinning strategy
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=30&Number=6967150&fpart=&PHPSESSID= ---> Akira's Orissa Bulk grow
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=2&Number=5190772&fpart=&PHPSESSID= ---> Agar's How a Mushroom Fruits
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=2&Number=5874305&fpart=&PHPSESSID= ---> CreamCorn's Clone with a Syringe Tek
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6610766#Post6610766 ---> RR's Verm vs Perlite post
Any suggestions are welcome

Yeah, this is a good idea. The stuff in Grow Mushrooms is all old. Like really old. Plenty of fresh stuff has been thought of, but nobody's taken the time to put any of it up in there.
Now, newbies have to spend quite a while digging for teks and information with the search engine, which, while it CAN turn up what you need, oftentimes it can be to use. It would be a lot easier to find some of this stuff if it was centrally located, maybe in an alphabetized list of teks in Grow Mushrooms. Mushroom Cultivation is way too big, gets posts way too quickly, and is ultimately cluttered all to hell and hard to find what you need.
I'm all for it. I think more recent teks should be hunted down and consolidated into one big list of teks, separated by type of tek, like LC, fruiting chamber designs, incubation setups, substrates, casing mixes, full procedures (teks you follow from inoculation to fruiting), and possibly a few other categories as well.
I think compiling a big encyclopedia of teks will help a lot in the long run, and maybe make things a little easier on everyone. We could all spend more time reading and less time searching for the teks to read. Just go to the type of tek you want, and start browsing away.

I have a sad feeling that he has left the building...
I tried calling him a few months back, several times.
His phone rang and rang and rang...
then one day it was disconnected.
I emailed him...no response.
His girfriend hasn't logged on to say anything.
I have this terrible feeling that his Cancer might have took him from us...
he was in pretty bad shape.

but I hope that I am wrong!~
I love the old Raccoon!~

that would be a sad day indeed, although I have to admit that I had thought of various of "F" word (rhymes with Melony) possibilities and hoped it wasn't so.

Just do a post search and enter Agar in the user box. If you do main posts you will hit a treasure chest of mini teks and ideas all with pictures. Pure gold.

I know there is a search function. I use the standard UTFSE response many a time. C'mon, I have been around here a couple of years.
I want everyone to post posts that THEY found useful or informative. I have a favourite list full of useful posts but there are loads of posts out there referring to teks and stuff that I already know/don't cultivate using that system and so, wouldn't bother using.
If there are any posts that any of you found especially useful when you were nOObs, or logs you have made that you think warrant going on the main site, or teks that are well laid out and work well, post them here.
I just want to update the cultivation section of the site because it hasn't changed much if any since I first joined this site, and a lot of stuff there is outdated.
The fact it is outdated means people new to this hobby enter this forum with quite a few misconceptions that take months to be ironed out on the forums.
How many times have we answered questions like Can I use perlite instead of verm? when should I start pinning? Is this humidifier suitable? How do I build a Monotub? etc etc etc
There is a load of concepts out there, such as dunk and roll for example, that don't have good explanations on the main site.

RR's explanation on how to properly pasteurize your substrate / casing mixtures - because there is so much misinformation on how to improperly pasteurize using tepid water and a pillow case.
---- But in all honesty, I think active participation (asking and more importantly answering questions) on these forums is the only legitimate way to truly advance in this hobby.
Reading and researching only gives you a one-dimensional opinion presented to you in the only way the author knew how at the time. If you really want to learn then you have to learn to teach. Answer a couple questions on this forum with misinformation or give some bad advice in a post or two. Provided you don't have a fragile ego, you'll come out of that thread knowing more about the topic then you ever did before.
Better yet, attempt to answer questions you _don't_ already know the answer to by using the archives, google.com and whatever other tools at your disposal and in doing so - once again - you'll end up learning a hell of a lot more than if you just found the perfect collection of TEKs.

If nothing else, at least this post will go a long way towards explaining the rationale behind my sig below... I don't know, I guess I'm done, anyone else want to borrow the soapbox?

I post in pub, cultivation, marketplace and cooking basically.
OTD is too controversial for me, and I haven't explored other sections that much.
I post in bursts. I normally float about here all year round but only post actively when I'm actually growing. Also, and that didn't help, my laptop broke last year (screen detached) and I had to use library or friends pcs, and I didn't post from them cause I don't want my hobby to be widely known.
Atm I'm the friend that can get his hands on shrooms once in a while. I don't want to become the friend that grows mushrooms though, people have a loose tounge.
Now I have my own little black macbook, yay
Back on topic, I agree with you mycocurious, nothing teaches better than active participation on the forums, but it doesn't do anyone any harm to start on a good footing.
When I started on here I read every single tek on the site, asking questions on the forums as I went along. In a week of reading and posting I was pretty confortable with most of the content on the site and managed to grow cakes and fruit them, and even spawn to poo without a single contam. I admit that I had former knowledge in biology and chemistry but without the help of this site and these forums I would have never got that far.
So, instead of people reading out of date stuff and coming on the forums and saying,
Hey, I was thinking of building a terratium but what should I use as a tilted drop barrier?
and then have someone say
That is old, use a shotgun terrarium,
I would prefer someone to sign up and ask, Hey, I read about this shotgun terrarium but I'm not sure how many holes it should have for this size.
Don't know if I explained myself correctly.
