Atheist poll

I have a few questions I would love to have other Atheists answer truthfully. This is NOT a thread to debate god, or to argue theism. Its a poll for Atheists to discuss these following questions.
1. Are you vocal about your atheism or do you shy away when religious discussion occur?
2. Do you politely agree to baptisms, circumcisions, weddings in churches, etc.. In order to appease religious family or societal pressures? In situations for yourself, wife and your own kids.
3. Considering the state of the world today with radicalism in religion from the USA to Iran at a noticeably growing rate, do you feel more responsibility to speak your beliefs and fight to spread atheism to friends/family? As Atheists are often against preaching since its what we despise in religions, do you as an atheist think remaining quiet in the face of aggressive moves by religious groups to determine laws that we have to live by as something we should not openly fight against?
4. Are you as an Atheist looking for a more focused plan and leadership online or locally to focus your efforts? Or would you prefer to not be involved in any Atheistic movements?
5. Finally, are you optimistic that hundred's of years from now religion will be much less of an influence on this world or are you of the belief that we are going to be under religious influence for a long long time to come?

1. yes i will happily argue with people about the horrific implications of their organized religion and of course the general absurdity of it. but thor if you are an atheist; you will know that these types of people just adamantly refuse to accept 'new' or 'blasphemous' information be it evolution, age of the earth, our place in the universe etc etc...
2. not really my thing but the last christian wedding i went to, just for the hell of it (i was pretty loaded, GHB and a few pillz i think) when everyone was kneeling/'headbowing' in prayer i was stood up dancing erratically.
3.the sad state of affairs in the US needs to change, if we just sit quiet the disease will continue to replicate and gain higher political footholds so drastic action needs to be taken, but would an atheist jihad, for example; be going to far?
4. if there is something i could do from here in the U.K to help UN-fuck america then i certainly would join a movement, we are definitely on the winning side, we have science. a governing body of atheist elected by atheist would be good, so we can all vote and agree on official statements, polices and agendas.
5.i would love to think so, but i just don't know, but it will never happen if we do nothing.

We have little posting traffic from the hours of 12 am to 5 am.
Probably not a lot of atheists, either.

No, it doesn't.
Well, in regards to an atheist poll, anyways.

In my circles of young adult acquaintances, religious discussion doesn't occur, I believe for reasons of lack of thought on the subject. On occasion if I meet someone who shares some of my viewpoints I'll offer a short "reaffirm one another's viewpoint on the subject" kind of conversation. You can usually tell when people are open or closed, and when their closed I just don't bother.

From my experience this things have all been merely events of "going through the motions" so I could mostly care less. Whether I was baptized or not doesn't matter to me, somebody just dunked my head under water. I've been impromptu baptized many times. Circumcision, however, should be up to the owner of the penis.

Absolutely not. I'll plant a seed here and there if I see the opportunity, but it is up to each individual to decide for themselves.

Perhaps. I'm a human being before an atheist I guess, whatever that means. Maybe, if I can't make a change as a human being I don't think I can make change as an atheist.
I do like to think that with all of the radicalism about today, younger generations are becoming disinterested in religion. Perhaps I'm doing more for atheism by quietly existing than I would if I were preaching it. I don't pay any mind to television commercials or preachers, they both rather offend me.

No. I'm in it for myself, the rest of the race is dammed with or without me . If something promising and positive where to present itself perhaps I might think about taking part.

That is where much of my little faith lies. It's not even faith so much as it is hope. Though, thinking critically, I do suspect the footprint of religion will remain exceedingly large for too much time to come.
