Pin Patience VS Fear (pics!)

A bit of background: This is my first attempt at growing. The strain is Amazonian and I inoculated on October 6. Once they had fully colonized I continued to leave them in the jars for another week, birthed, dunked, rolled on Friday, October 27. They've been in the incubation chamber (read: plastic box with wet perlite and air holes) since Saturday last, 5 days.
The mycelium seems to have taken over a good portion of my rolled vermiculite but besides that there was no activity until today: 2 measly pins on one cake. I suspected moisture might be an issue and sure enough, I found some surprises where the cakes meet the tinfoil. Take a look:
Thanks, rubbermaid. Are there too many air holes?

Keeping a constant temp of about 76F. No humidity gauge.
 Sad little guys.
 A seemingly innocent, inactive cake...
 Surprise!
So I'm not really sure how to proceed. I don't want to mess things up out of impatience but I also worry that if I don't do something now, all of this will be for nothing. Show me my noob mistakes.

Keep your RH near 99% and give it FAE and you will be fine.
Not all cakes fruit the same, with a mixed bag of genetics you can never tell.
Read up on cloning fruits, should you harvest a nice one!

Like I said, I have no gauge for telling the humidity. I have just checked all the cakes and 4/5 have pins on the underside, against the tinfoil. What should I do about that? Flip them? Nothing?

Your fruiting chamber looks a bit dry.

I followed just about every perlite chamber guide I could find... It did worry me that there were so many air holes but they're very small (1/6 inch). Should I tape a few rows up? re-water the perlite? I've been spraying the area with water once a day.

Okay, I found a place I can pick up a gauge, but even when I have it and it looks low, what can I do? I've heard it's bad to spray the cakes directly and I can't be around all day. Is there a small humidifier that I can buy to aid the process? Reptile department at petco couldn't tell me

yea you'll be fine. they have only ben in there 5 days. mine have been in the fc a little over a week and i still dont have pins. you dont have to flip them they are just growing from down there because those are optimal growing conditions they will find they're way out. if your pelite is rinsed and well drained then there is no need to re-hydrate it. also i wouldnt cover up any of those holes it looks about perfect. def get an analog hygrometer.

hmmmm, how much are you willing to pay for a humidifyer. just add more perlite and cover up some holes that are the highest, cause you still want the co2 at the bottum to come out.

You should be fanning out your chamber 6 times a day, this is the most important pinning triger and will help prevent contams like cobweb.
You can mist a few times a day to help, stop misting when primordia form to prevent aborts, then once they develop into pins with brown heads u can start misting again.
Yes its bad to directly mist, mist above your FC and let a fine mist of water fall in.

Thanks for the advice. Best I can do on the fanning is once in the morning and 3-5 in the evening. Hope that'll do it. Weekend's coming up though, I should be able to keep an eye on things then.

Dont worry about the shrooms growing from the bottom of the cake. I'm having the same and they are now pretty large, almost tipping the cake over
