Vendors --> Lab Equipment Product Suggestion....

Test Tube Slant Racks

I looked high and low throughout the vendor sites for this product and couldn't find anyone offering them for sale. For creating master culture slants, they really make life easy by being autoclavable at a predefined 20° angle for aerobic cultures. If you offered them, I'm sure you'd find a market of people willing to invest in them.
Now, if anyone would like to thank me for my wonderful suggestion with a promo-code or a discount, that'd be great...
And while we're on the topic, offering disposable 3-sector and 4-sector petri dishes would be nice too. Help me support you...

I use the weight from a PC to get the right angle. That would be easy though. What's the price? RR

I wouldn't recommend carrying that product. These things are pretty pricey; upwards of $36.00 each. That price is from a manufacturer, not a distributor. Great item to have no doubt, just doesn't seem very cost effective.
You know what really makes me mad is the whole medical/lab use ordeal. This thing is plastic for Christ's sake, not gold! I can't stand it when manufacturers rake people over the coals simply because their products are going to be used for medical or lab use. This is the exact reason why medical costs are out of control.

Can't argue with Wronguy's statement that they're vastly overpriced simply because they're in a niche market. Since I don't have an account with "the big boys" I ended up paying around $48 ea. for them.
I also can't find any fault in how RR does it with a weight. Until I knicked on of these, it's how I've done it in the past - which, admittedly, was only a handful of times. What I like about these however is that they give you the same 20° angle every time... and I'm a big fan of repeatability and reproducibility.
Still, I think that if a couple vendors were to list them, they'd sell. Especially after the first time someone has a balanced rack get knocked over one way or the other while it's cooling screwing up the slant cultures...
I don't know, just thought I'd throw it out there. Now about carrying the 3-sector and 4-sector petri dishes - I don't know why all the lab-equipment vendors here don't have those offered...unless I'm just blind.
