passion flower and the mushroom?
    #7582756 - 11/01/07 12:51 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

does anybody have any experience with combining passion flower with mushrooms? i'm particularly interested in smoking it, but i have interest in using it as a tea also. i know that passion flower can contain MAOI (not sure about all species?), and im wondering how a smoked form might effect a mushroom journey, but any information is welcomed.

I have tons of passiflora incarnata that grows near me. I'll gladly send people seeds, leaf and vine material, or cuttings (for other useful plants/spores in exchange, or a small tip).

I have expirememnted with the plant an okay amount. The smoke is somewhat nice. I notice it goes best in joints. It's similar to tobacco in how it numbs the lips a little, but the smoke is very smooth and easy. After smoking two joints it feels like you've had a nice bowl of schwag.

The tea in my opinion though is more efficient as you can bowl it down to a very small potent amount. The chemical you feel the most are the alkaloids that are similar to benzoflavones (xanex, valium), I have yet to try to synergize the passion flower with something that would show it's MAOI properties yet. But I may be attempting an ayahuasca like brew in the near future. If you wish to use the MAOI properties as a potentiator you will certainly need to make a tea to make it potent enough.

Its been a long time since this post was out there but I was wondering how it went?

I would really like to try this but was also thinking about putting the extract into some of my shroom pills to be able to take less do you think that would work?

I have not used passionflower with psilocybin but I have used kava kava and it was pretty good.

How did it feel? Did it make you trip harder or longer or was it just different all together?

The reason I was looking into the rue was because it was supposed to make the trip last longer with less shrooms

Syrian Rue would certainly be a more efficient MAOI in comparison to Passion Flower.
Syrian Rue is actually a specific kind of MAOI known as an RIMA, so most dietary restrictions do not apply.

Don't go pressing your luck though.
