Will this mixture of techniques work?

Okay, this is combination of different things i'v been reading on here, mostly from the bulk substrate section.
I have grown one other time with cakes using perlite to humidify and it was very succesfull.
my plan was to inoculate about 30 jars, incubate them...all of this i have done and am confident with....
heres the part i dont really know about: after sterilizing some wheat straw put the wet straw in growbags and after it cools put a completely colonized cake in with it, crunch and mix it up and leave in the dark for all of the mixture to colonize
once its done i was going to lay about 4inch of the colonized straw substrate in the bottom of a clear sterlite storage container and then putting a casing layer on top. i was just going to use the same container as a fruiting chamber and use plastic wrap as the lid
will this work out? will the straw bag colonize completely? will the casing and straw substrate provide enough humidity to use the same container as a fruiting chamber?
i wanted to do this instead of cakes or regular casing methods because i understand the yeild is much greater with straw plus it increases the squar footage of myclicium does my logic make sense?

once it's in a container like the bag to colonize it should be left as a whole and not used as a spawn. once the cakes mix with the straw that should be it, the mix should be in the final fruiting container.
casings retain more moisture and the lowest I've fruited a casing was around 91% so i can't comment on anything lower for humidity.

yes it is fine to combine them in solid layer instead of grow bags...
4" of straw will produce smaller fruits typically I had better experience with 6" depths.
straw contams like a mofo so it's 3 flush max deal usually but sometimes I had straw casings hold on 5 flushes
also you mentioned sterilizing your straw you will want to be pasteurizing it not sterlizing it.
one more thing to consider is you need to have dark side on the fruit chamber container to discourage pinning on the sides. read some teks you'll get some ideas.

If you are going to use the tub you fruited in, then basically you are going to be making a monotub.
Read about monotubs here on the forum and see how they are done.
Also, someone on here, can't remember who, colonizes in bags and then does what you wanted to do, spreads the colonized bulk sub and then cases.
I'll see if I can find the log he posted.

you could colinize it in a large gallon size ziplock and then just plop the entire thing in the FC once its all colinized and firm. that would be about 5 inches thick if you stuffed the bag properly.
