Happy Halloween. :dancingshroom:

#1

Habitat: Dead Tree
Gills: White/Off White
Stem: White/Off White
Cap: White/Off White
Spore Print: None Taken
Bruising: None Noticed
Location: Idaho
Smell: Like I just caught a trout, very wierd. This is the shroom I posted about earlier today "Smells like FISH".

#2

Habitat: Wood Chips/Grass
Gills: Light Brown
Stem: Whitish. Larger at the bottom
Cap: Light Brown
Spore Print: Purple Brown!
Bruising: Stem bruises a little darker than its natural color.
Location: Idaho
Edit: Oh yeah, I also found TONS of spots where someone already picked near and around these. About 3 weeks ago I found a ton of pan foes or psythrellas in this area.. I'm still not sure what they were, I threw them out. But someone sure took an interest in them, they raped the shit out of the ground, looked like they dug up the mycelium also.

Misc. other finds throughout the day:

The stem on this one splits in two after the ring, pretty odd lookin.

I come across ALOT of these, too lazy to do a real ID request.

Spot the mushroom!

I had to climb the tree for this pic.. definately the hardest I've ever worked to get a picture, I'd rather deal with an electric fence any day haha.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

#3 looks like a lepiota, possibly green-spored?

1) Looks like an oyster, but I don't know of any oysters that smell like fish. Maybe there is some other decay in or around the mushroom? It doesn't look rotten. Maybe it is a white Omphalotus species like O. nidiformis, but that still wouldn't explain the fish smell, and I don't know of any of those in north america.

2) Stropharia or Psathyrella

3) Lepiota sounds good

4) It could be Chlorophyllum rachodes, but don't eat it based on that.

5) I am not sure what it is, I wouldn't be surprised if it was white spored. Since it is growing on wood that was intended for outdoor use, it is very likely poisoned with heavy metals by absorbing fungicides that are put into fence posts and other outdoor wood.

what are you talking about? Alan, oysters are indeed supposed to be a little fishy. Why do you think they call them oysters? I grew some oysters last spring, and they smell a little bit seafoody. Not super fishy, it's a subtle, mushroomy smell, but there is definately fishy tendencies to it.
