cold tolerance

I've been suprised lately to see many cyan pins to be developing (although slowly) despite the thirty degree temps lately at my house. A few turned dark blue after last weeks frost, but the majority are still growing. I know that the wood-digesting psilocybes (cyans, baeos, azurescens) around here can generally withstand the cold temps the best, but what about liberty caps, whats their cold tolerance? Lately in the PNW its been cold and a bit drier than usual, I would still like to go hunting for some libs this fall, anyone still having much luck!

awesome, good news! I picked a few cyans too that were frozen stiff last week, the rest in the ground seemed fine after they thawed. The forecast is calling for a bit warmer than normal and drier than normal for next few weeks... not good for all those developing pins to be deprived of moisture.

dont know about your location but libs are relatively hardy here... we had 3 nights of frost in a row about 2 weeks ago, its warmed up slightly again now and they are still going strong

i figured they would be going still, i just haven't made time to go look, also i've never actually gone into any pastures to search for them. Besides eating some, I'm most interested in getting a print or culture of some libs to experiment with.

the tempurature that a thermometer takes will be alot different than the temperature of the small areas under shrubs, leaves and tall grass. That's where the shroomies thrive during the cooler months of the year, especially when the rains cut out for a week or so.
