Nicotine tolerance...
    #7580550 - 10/31/07 12:21 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I tried smoking a cigarette a month or two ago, and I loved the feeling. I don't know what it was about it, but the dizzyness and euphoric feeling was pretty good. About a week later, I tried it again... mind you, all the times I've smoked, I've never smoked a whole cigarette. The most I took was about 5 hits. Anyway, I'm not worried about becoming addicted, and I'm growing a Nicotiana rustica plant, so I won't have to worry about health effects either. The thing is, I heard that nicotine tolerance lasts forever... is this true? Will I, one day, not be able to get effects from tobacco, even if I wait months before trying it?

I'm in need of a sterile sporeprint, if anyone wants to do a trade for some seeds or something, or maybe just for free if you have a lot of them............. i'd really appreciate it :mushroom2:

We all start smoking "just a few hits"

Very few people smoke a whole cigarette their first time.

Actually I think nicotine tolerance is very short lived. I smoke a pack to a pack and a half a day and never get a buzz or anything. If I stop for 3 days and smoke a cigarette it floors me.

I think the tolerance only lasts 48 hours or so, maybe up to a week for some people.

Just dont start, bad idea and there is no good that comes from it. I need to quit. You're growing a tobacco plant? Thats pretty cool, I'd like to look into that.

If you smoke one cigarette a day every day you'll get that rush. Problem is, only very few people can do that.

Don't start smoking. Really. It could be the beginning of a lifelong struggle and that for a high that isn't worth it. There are far more interesting things to be addicted to than cigarettes.

Are you kidding? Uncured Rustica can have enough nicotine to make your heart explode in your chest right then and there.

the half life of nicotine is 15 minutes in the blood stream, the chemical is all but gone from your body after a single cigarette in just a few hours.

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

I know how bad smoking is, really, I do... it's what I've been told ever since I was a kid. But I've got this under control. I haven't even done it in weeks, and I have no urge to do it again anytime soon.

What I mean is;
1. I'm not using radioactive pesticides
2. I'm not curing it so that the carcinogenic caramelization occurs
3. I'm not going to smoke much of it, and with rustica, just a tiny wisp of smoke will be enough

You're correct.

On a side note, here is one of the most intriguing papers I have come across regarding nicotine. The conclusion is that nicotin itself is not addictive, rather, smoking and tobacco. If you backtrack all the references, (and read the commentaries) you'll find they are pretty much spot on with this review.

It'll change the way you look at nicotine.

I smoke when drunk. And occasionally like once every 3 months when I really feel the urge to smoke I will have 1 cigarette.

I smoked heavily for 3 years and to this day if I smoke a cigarette I hardly feel anything.

That amazing head buzz dizzy feeling you get with your first cigarette, I've never gotten that again.

everyone i know smokes cigarettes and not a single one is happy about it, makes me feel more privelidged to not ahve to walkin the path myself and its realy not that its so addictive of a drug its more the life the friends the family that also smoke the cigarettes after meals and after boredom strikes that it grasps your memory and your overwhelmed with the urge. why is what i ask and the only reason is "idk". its created in the brain and and thas makes it okay in a sense but so are cannibanoids and dmt but that doesnt make it okay to be stoned and tripping 24/7 . yeah whatever smoke your cig, bum that drag, it will only further seperate the ignorant from the less ignorant.

not to sound harsh to people who have a hard time quitting but if u ask me its a lot like quitting cannabis, if you change your life and where u hangout when and what you do its just a little step more to end your mental addiction. lke i have never boughten a pack but i know a good amount of affects from mass amounts of second hand smoke. sometimes i almost need someone else to smoke for the second hand addiction, its jsut such a queer drug might aswell go smoke some amphetimes and triple cut coke

i am one of those people that smokes a cig or cigar very rarely and gets away with it.

i actually hate cigarettes..i NEVER smoke them anymore...i used to smoke like 1 marlboro red after getting high...and not every time i got high...just sometimes..

i might dip on occassion...like every few months...same with hitting a cigar..

im lucky..i dont really like the feeling THAT much...just mixes well with certain drugs...

plus the addiction would blow...my friends are always complaining about buying another pack...
