Hey man, good job on playing that thing for what 9 hours?
Your fingers will hurt in the beginning, but theyll get calloused soon enough. I would recomend playing on an acoustic to get your fingers tougher though.
Yeah i started playing when i was 11 and took lessons for like 5 months. my teacher mostly taught me songs i wanted to know, and soon enough i caught on and could learn songs by ear. He taught me chords and octives..and i thinks thats about it- i didnt know it at the time, but later i realized he was stoned all the time because his eyes were always red.
Anyway in high school i took guitar classes and i learned how to read sheet music, and i recommend you learn that after youre comfortable with tabs. Reading notes from sheet music will let you know the song youre learning more precisely than reading tabs.
Also just try to play things you hear, any little tunes or songs, try to play those tunes on your guitar as soon as you hear them until you get it right.
After you do that you should get into scales and so on, in my opinion.

Ive already started doing scales. I know Most of the major chords and some of the minor chords. Um right now im memorizing all the notes on the fretboard, so far Ive only got the 1st string though.

Step one: pick up guitar.
Step two: make noise. any noise.
Step three: Continue making noise until it sounds good, It eventually works itself out.
Thats how i did it.

He probably thinks the B string is the fifth string. I know I did until someone explained it to me.

I thought of that, but the third fret on the B string is D.

It's not really necessary to memorize all of the notes at once. A good exercise is to hum a note, and try to play the same note on your guitar noting what note it is. It seems dumb but it REALLY helps you learn the instrument.
