Some stropharia (all inactive I believe) are known for bruising blue. There are mushrooms that bruise blue but have no relation to containing psilocyben.

The way they are changing color from blue to tan as they age shows that they are an inactive stropharia species.

Maybe supply us with clearer pictures of the mushrooms. It's quite hard to make a solid ID with one unclear picture.

They are either Stropharia aeruginosa or Stropharia caerulea. Both of the species are not active! You'll notice that these mushrooms don't BRUISE blue. They are green blue and though I can understand that people think the yare actuve, because they might heard somethin' about blule = Psilocin / Psilocybin, they are not. Plenty of boletes bruise VERY blue and aren't active either and since St. Aeruginosa / caerulea are pretty easy to identify, I'm pretty sure it's either the one OR the other species.

stropharia aeruginosa for 100% sure.
they are all over the PNW of USA, and UK/EUR right now.
its just our higher power playing pranks on us, especially that they grow at the same time and season as other "blueing" friends.

In years of picking I've probably only come across 5 or 6 patches of these but this year they seem to be EVERYWHERE. Crazy year. Crazy, good year
