Ok, I read an observation RR wrote on some thread saying that a pin has the same amount of cell tissue during its whole life cycle. And that it just stretches as it matures holding more and more water. (hope im not misinterpreting) Anywho, my question is if you were to take a pin and its mature counterpart (its future self) and completely dry them would they weight the same? (assuming you got rid of any water both bodies held.) if not, would this throw his theory out the window? ive been thinking about that and i cant make sense of it. If RRs theory was correct wouldnt a pin make up its size in density?
if i didnt understand what RR said will someone explain it to me?

Are you sure he didn't say the same amount of cells, and not cell tissue? If so then cells could still grow and end up weighing more.

yeah, thats what i got from it. He said that 3 grams of pins would contain more magic than a shroom weighing 3 grams.

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7030322#7030322 heres the link, he does say cells, sorry not cell tissue. So whats the science behind this how can the cells expand and not create more potency?

It does not make sense to my head.
Some mushrooms grows hundreds times the pin size, I would see that giant cell without a microscope.

i think the key to his theory is understanding cell expansion. I need to read up.
the way i pictured it was like those foam dinosaurs that get bigger when you drop water on them. you know?

When he says that pins have more magic than full grown mushrooms he means more magic by volume, not that a pin is more potent than a mature one.

I think my doubt now is: What's a fully matured pin? When does it stops dividing cells and start to expand?
I'll read that thread.

This is definitely an analysis involving detailed information on the time cycles of cell division into expansion. Eh... maybe a question for RR (or someone geared more towards the microscopic science of mycology)?

wait so is a pin just as strong as its full grown form would be?

A pin might potentially contain more psilocybin by volume than a mature mushroom.

No. Not 'might' or 'potentially'. It's a fact. This is basic mycology folks. RR

I vaguely recall something along the lines of fruit-body cells can stretch up to 300% as they take on more moisture...Don't confuse this with the fact that mushrooms are typically 90% by weight, however.
