discovery and history channels are my favorites. if nothing is on either one of those i switch from comedy central, FX, and TBS...cartoon network(adult swim) after 10pm.
but yeah, i was rolling on a yellow star E pill the other night watching some of that planet earth stuff for about 10 minutes before realizing i felt like i had been sitting there for 2 hours and had to go dance to some tunes in a different room. it was my first time rolling(not the first time taking one though- just didnt roll my first time), i thought i was gonna die a few moments during it, now i feel brain dead and depressed after being so up and happy. it was fun as hell though, i kept saying 'im tripping' because thats sorta what it felt like, without the visuals and much more energy.

I've always got the TV on either Discovery, Disc. Science, Nat'l Geo., History, and Military. Perhaps one of the greatest ways to expand knowledge. Ultimately they're simply expansions of my main sources of leaning- Wikipedia, Erowid, Shroomery. College only fills in the cracks, really.
Last trip, my buddy and I turned on Disc. Science after we peaked and dropped off a bit, and what came on was completely insane. The show was an apocalyptic scenario for some massively tall (currently being planned) City/Building that rose like 3 miles into the damn sky. It was probably one of the trippiest things I've seen.
Planet Earth is hands down my favorite documentary/mini-series of all time. Especially because I got to watch it in HD without commercials every night.
I have to say that the greatest trip-worthy thing I have seen on these channels is a particular episode of that Planet Earth spin-off Blue Planet. There was a deep-sea episode, with creatures from the ocean bottom. It was the most amazing display of lights and colors, patterns and movements I have ever seen. It looks as though God made the fish of the deep the psychedelically-endowed creations. Heheh. Absolutely amazing it was, completely sober!
-------------------- Life is just a flashback... I may have gone a bit too far, I fear Will I get out of it this time? What was I thinking, taking this leap I thought I knew where we would go If only I knew, I had no idea.

I'm really into animal documentaries. I just can't stand the slanted evolutionary talk in the whole movie. Can't they just talk about the animals, and how they live and such in the real world, without trying to indoctrinate me with evolution?
I also have a hard time handling the violence. It's really strange, it's like the people who film this stuff have a sick taste for violence in nature.
In any case, I have a desire to make my own animal documentaries. Maybe even a few. I know I'll never be a professional. But what If I just find a few good animals and then film them. Perhaps a good excuse for a vacation maybe?
I think the best animal doc's are the ones with no backround music, just raw footage, with occasional narraration. I'm having a really hard time finding ones like this, but I've seen it on pbs before.
