will post pics as soon as my camera gets some batteries in an hour or so but anyway does anyone know whether or not F+ needs a cold shock or any other special treatment as to caring for its fruits and mycelia?

me if you have questions about lasers Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles. FeelFamily resident tech guru

1. It doesn't need to be upside down -By turning it upside down you are bouncing around the dry verm and if contaminant spores happened to be on the top of the dry verm barrier there is a good chance they're right against your verm/brf mix.
2. It doesn't need to be dark.

light has ZERO effect on colonization. you're risking nothing exposing jars to light. what you know now is just a myth, a rumor. it has no truth. they'll only pin when they're fully colonized or if they're contaminated. so don't worry about light at all.
84 degrees is WAY too hot to have your jars at. that's just asking for trouble. room temperature is far superior in my mind.
simply setting your jars on an open shelf will give you a far better chance for success than your current setup.
and no, F+ does NOT need any cold shocking. no cubensis do. they're a subtropical/tropical species and a cold shock will only set you back, it won't help anything.

F+ are a GREAT cubie to work with...
Cold shocking is not nesccary with them, average fruit production time is 3-5 day's after surface colonization, they seem to pin abit faster then other cubies but what do I know...
Here's a pic of F+ growing off of 6tbs of rye to less then a half inch bulksub of straw/hpoo (was testing the nutrional value of my hpoo before useing it in bulk)

F+ offer amazing visuals.
