i was thinking of boiling down dog food and injecting it or anything else that could offer nutrients.

Nice 69th post there, bud This is the only way you'll inject anything that will help. Mushrooms already have their nutrients, but the drinking straw method for cakes, and psuedo-dunking bulk tubs, help a lot.

What about injecting a casing thats already into its third flush with an LC solution of the same strain as well as some nutrients, as the old mycelium pushed out its third or even fourth flush the new mycelium could start colonizing and establish itself and eat the old as it died off(lol cannibal fungus) as well as adding more nutrients as it grows, sounds like something worth trying, I have two PR casings that are in theyre first flush and an lc made from the same syringe so I guess ill give it a try ,think it will work?

No. No I don't. You know, the old mycelium died because it ran out of nutrients.
(What are you going to do? Inject lignin? heh...)
What's so brilliant and attractive about this concept that makes everyone who's just starting think it's a viable, intelligent plan? Why not take that LC and put it into another cake that's choc full of nutrients?

You can inject as many nutrients into an old cake or casing as you want it will still die out after a few flushes, if the old mycelium died because it ran out of nutrients then you could just keep adding more nutrients into it and it could keep producing flushes for as long as you wanted, so if this were possible someone would have already tried it and we would all know about it.

hmmn perhaps if you studied up and found what the original nutritional neccesities for mushrooms are you could extract and replenish the cake or casing thus increasing life-span

sweet sounds like it might work. i don't expect continues flushes but maybe pull a forth or fifth flush off. just a thought. seemed plossible i think it would be most effective after a dunk. to hydrate the mycelem to give it the best chance to attach. what ever the case don't hate on the new guy for following in your foot steps. just trying to catch up to speed.
