TheNewGuy's 2007 Outdoor Crop {Very Colorful} ...A Must See
    #7575208 - 10/30/07 01:11 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

ok it's been a while but i have the rest of my males in line and the pollen is finally collected from all the boys and i am now looking for my ladies. It's been tricky trying to find the right males and get out all the males before they cross pollinate with something random.... we can't have that!

THE MALES

First of all I will start with my bubblegum X Northern Light #5. This one has been a strong grower even in xtremely dry weather. With this project I decided to go with breeding the bubblegum X Northern Light #5 with another bubblegum X Northern Light #5 from the same batch of seeds

Here we have the Sweet Plum strain. last year i couldn't figure out if this bud tasted like grapes or plums but it will try to figure it out this year. My male was a Trifoliate this year. normally i wouldn't choose a trifoliate but this year he had the most desirable traits of all the boys in this group so I decided to go for it. I still have seeds from last years projec so if this doesn't work out i will just scrap it and try again. again great in dry weather.

This is My Blueberry X Durban Cross. from the lands of Africa the Durban has withstood the dry weather this year with ease. I can't wait for the blueberry flavor a month early. this boy was very sweet smelling almost lime like. This will be bread with a Blueberry X Durban male from the same batch of seed.

My black cherry turned out all female and i am really liking how she is performing. As for growing it next year I think I'm gonna have to cross it with blueberry so I can have some form of this beautiful plant for my next grow. I chose blueberry because it is the sweetest weed I have and I don't want to mess up the flavor with some afghani or skunk in the mix.

The ak47 X NL project is coming along sooth, i have a few ladies i am going to backcross with NL#5 pollen. I loved the buds from the ak47 but i wan a more NL#5 like plant from this cross.

as for the lime strain i was working on... the boy ended up showing ladies parts and i had to kill his ass quick cuz i want nothing to do with those things.

THE LADIES...

Blueberrry X Durban - Blueberry flavors with better yield and earlier harvest (Thank you Durban)... MM MMM Good.

BubbleGum X Northern Light #5 - Smells Just Like Bazooka Joe, as for the flavor I can only say it will most likely taste like bubblegum as well. Hopefully the NL#5 will influence the high more, can't wait to test this one but i must.

Around October 15 I should have my harvest in.

EDIT: as i ventured out to see these beauties i noticed my sweet plum (which i am now labeling as a grape strain due to test run #2 research), was bitten off at the base of the stem. 3 very clean bites in a wedge pattern took it down. what kills me is whatever did it didn't eat it, instead it was left on the ground to rot. 2 weeks from mature f3's and something outdoors screwed me out of them but that is the way it goes sometimes. i wanted to take some nice shots of her b4 i showed anything but the camera was practically dead so I have a Sh!++Y picture of it, and it looks like thats all i will have of it.

Here is the last of the shots from me for the year... hope you enjoy them.

AK47 X Northern Lights #5
This is my hybrid created last year. My goal was the density of the ak47 buds with the high of the northern light. it has been a pleasure too work with as it has put out some beautiful colors and some nice dense nugs as well. skunky/afghani/kush flavor influenced by the NL with hints of musk. That is mainly what i was going for but I imagine it would take years to find the exact genetic combination that I am looking for but i am very satisfied at the present time.

Black Cherry
Black cherry has made me a believer from the beginning. when i got the seeds from a member here (not sure if i should mention his name or not) i thought the seeds looked a little premature but wen i soaked them in water it barely took a day for them to start showing viability. the looks of the plants are very uniform, had a very nice branching pattern, and threw some beautiful red/pink hues in the veins and the leaves. the finished product actually taste like the product description which goes a long way for me. Cherry candy flavors from some others smell like cherry kool-aid tastes. this strain has made me a TGA fan for life. Tons of resin and an over all beautiful strain... Well done TGA!

Check Out The Red Hues In The Veins Of Black Cherry

Blueberry
Blueberry is a strain that I will always love. I've heard of many issues from random people around here who say that their blueberry herms but mine never has and yet again no herms (knock on wood). Blueberry flavor with a high that has no ceiling (meaning the more you consume the higher the experience, you can really smoke yourself to sleep with this strain). sweet blueberry flavor yet smells of musk/skunk when burnt. all berry flavors & smells are there but the after scent is truly different than expected. beautiful colors and this one should be in everyones collection.

Blueberry X Durban
Thick chunky nugs and lots of resin. it's a shorter flowering version of blueberry with a more complex high (more like durban but has no ceiling, most likely from the blueberry). You can smoke yourself to sleep on this one as well and has endless genetic potential.

Hope you enjoyed... I might update with a few dry shots... might have to see what goes down.

Those look fantastic. Those are some really nice looking plants. I love the colors on some of them. But it looks like you didn't top your plants. Is there any reason you didn't.

topping wastes growing time, indoor growers have all the time to waste that they want but outdoor growers lose weeks when topping plants. also strains like critical mass, blueberry, and some other don't respond well to topping at all.

just think how long it takes to grow those 2 or 3 new shoots that you clip off, 1 you lose time to stunting, 2 you lose time with the height becuz the plants are trying to stay alive by growing new possible flower site. That alone will set you back at least a week then you take away the week or so that it took to grow the top that you cut off. if you leave it alone you gain more height and the botom will fill in with branches & buds anyways so why waste the time? it just doesn't add up IME

That sounds logical. I am pretty new to growing bud. My brother in law and I are about 2 weeks into our first grow. We are just growing some seeds taken out of a bag of some decent weed. We have 3 plants right now I wish I would have had more seeds but I will be happy if we get any weed out of the deal as it is our first time. The next grow we plan on germinating 20 seeds and see how that goes.

I would really like to get some nice strains growing like that but I am so paranoid about getting busted from ordering the seeds.

Again nice plants man. Peace Out

nice buds man, all of your plants look so healthy and well taken care of. I really like the cover you're using on your ladies as well, i bet it does a perfect job of disguising your ladies amongst the brush. Ill be scouting out some land soon to plan my first outdoor grow, i want to have a few plots this year with just a couple plants in each plot.

:sigh: all of these pictures makes me really miss my hydro shop even more, now i have to drive two hours to get supplies.

Ak47 X NL#5 - Smell - 90%Skunk 10%fruity. Flavor - Smooth lemon-like/hashy taste on the draw, on the exhail heavy but smooth skunk flavor. Can think clear & and up alert high yet very strong. Instant efectys wit immediate dizzyness, give i a few seconds i goes away. It's everything I could ask for in a skunk... true oldschool.

Black Cherry - potent - highly potent, little racy high, very alert. Sweet yet hashy tasting. The taste is similar to the smell on the in hail (like artificial cherry flavoring or kool-aid). On the ex hail the flavor is slightly tart like rhubarb with a mild floral inscence-like hint in the background of the flavor. A very smooth smoke that really expresses the resin production with it's hashy flavor.

Blueberry - Sweet & hashy with hints of berry and musky (similar to jack herer) on the inhail. A very smooth smoke that always leaves a smile on my face. I guess I would have to say it's berry & hashyness is backed by a hazy undertone. Never harsh unless the smoke gets hot (like hotboxing a joint or scorching a pipe). Very uplifting, clear headed, & strong high but sometimes makes me forget what I'm doing.

Blueberry Durban - very berry-like smell. hashy yet licorice like in flavor similar to the %100 durban. The high is very strong and instant (7 seconds light headed rush comes on strong). Very up and alert but not clear at all, makes me sweat with every hit. Sort of disorientating at times.

GROWTH - the growth with this one is slightly unstable as this is only an f3 and the variation is really showing in some of these following shots.

Pheno #1
dense berry like in scent and resin packed. she gets an A

Pheno #2
Pretty much blueberry with nice resin output.

Similar Pheno

Pheno #3 - More durban like Pheno Very resinous - licorice flavor

Pheno #4 - SPEAR SHAPED NUG
spear shaped buds with moderate to heay resin output, mild berry hints mostly overpowered by licorice.

Pheno #5 -
This pheno a 50/50 mix between the two it has lower resin production than other but still beats these next Piles O SH!t. More berry flavored yet still a harsh smoke. C-

Same style here as well

Pheno #6 - I'm not sure if the Thai in the blueberry was egged on by the sativa in the durban but these were hay buds and didn't mature. Nice branching pattern just weak buds... Not what I'm into. D+ cuz it is a strong buzz (Taste like licorice durban) but the yield is disgusting and resin production is low. Not worthy of breeding or anything else except burning.

The hay pheno to the left, the resin producers with berry flavor on the right

Grapefruit Skunk - Fruity & sweet like grapefruits on the inhail. Citrusy and slightly harsh on the exhail with remaining hints of the grapefruit taste. The citrus is so zesty, I beleive this is mainly what is harsh about it. the following hits seem more smooth. A very strong high that makes me slightly light headed trying to hold in the hit, even while sitting down. This is what I expected from NYC Diesel but i found it all in Grapefruit Skunk.

Northern Mix - A quick finishing afghani inbreed. Very afghani/pine/skunk-wannabe smell & flavor. Slightly thick smoke leaves a syrup-like taste on your tongue (similar to hemp lollipops). Very strong sedating stone only appropriate for night-time use (unless you like draggin' ass all day).
