Who here thinks this band is awsome? If so what's your favorite songs? Mine are "Televators" and "Eriatarka". I just recently learned that their album, De-Loused in the Comatorium, was based on actual events. It is about a friend that overdoses on drugs and goes into a coma. When he finnally wakes up he kills himself. Apparantly there is a book about it. The songs are just so much more powerful knowing this. Very interesting. Discuss...

yeah, its about one of the founder's friends who tried committing suicide with a morphine overdose. The album is about what they think he experienced whilst in the comma. also I love these guys a lot, started off liking them cuz they where half of ATDI then loved them cuz ATDI sucks in comparison.

I think Amputechture is their best work to date. Can't wait to hear their new one in January.

What are you talking about? You're confused with Jeremy Ward, who killed himself AFTER deloused.
This band is amazing though. I'm seeing them in San Fran on New Year's Eve! It shouldnt be too hard to score acid with a band like the Volta playing.

Jeremy Ward overdosed and died from heroin after the album was released. Deloused is a story based on band friend Julio Venegas who went into a coma after overdosing. After coming out of the coma he jumped off an overpass into traffic.

I cant believe no one mentioned Frances the Mute.
I love Deloused, and think its their best album, but Frances isnt that far behind Deloused.
Drums in Frances are way out there and i think that album might take my trip a little higher than Deloused.
Amputechture i dont really like.

volta is one of my favorites. I love deloused, and Frances is, to me, their best release to date. newer album not so big on but i do look forward to the new release. You all NEED to see them live because it blew my mind. they played a 2 1/2 hour set, no opener. it was amazing.
