Have a few azure jars ready to go...When I first started playing with them I lived up North...Now I am in Zone 9...I'm wondering if the summers are too hot and the winters too warm to grow them outdoors???

"I guess so"...Is that an educated, answer from someone who knows...or an off the cuff answer from a novice??? Lot's of things don't grow "naturally" in certain climates...Doesn't mean they CAN'T grow when introduced artificially...There's usually room for compromise in most climates...The nights certainly get into the low 40's here in winter and the summer temps don't get much hotter than a good heat wave in New England...So, I'll ask again...Does anyone know, or has anyone out there successfully grown Azures in a zone 9 climate???

Calm down there buddy, he was just trying to help. I'm not going to answer your question, and I hope nobody else does. Do some experimenting for yourself.

Hmmm. I was going to offer an 'educated guess' as someone who picks them every fall for the last 20 years on what you could try, but your answer above has scared me off from even trying. RR

that's absolutely correct, it doesnt mean they cant grow in florida what it does mean is that you'll need to provide the environment that they'll need, refrigeration equipment isnt cheap and since it'll be an outdoor grow it's going to be excessively high on the unit as well as energy consumption
good luck and start saving now

That would mean that, in summer, there could grow Copes and Cubes in New England and Washington as well. As well as they would grow in my Area, but they definitely don't... and not because there aren't people trying it but because the climate isn't accurate. Temperature is one thing, the other thing is humidity and there's not much of it when states like New England, Washington or what ever suffer from heat waves... And anyway... what have you got to lose? You live in Florida and have a bunch of ready to go jars. What would you do with them if not trying it? Hope they grow without you doing anything?
I don't even think you wanted to be offensive (and I don't it is, but it isn't very friendly...), but for the future: don't be that "pissy". People are just trying to help you and so did I

I was going to suggest icing down the beds for a few days at the time of the first good cold front to come through. That might trigger a fruiting. It seems that block ice with an insulating blanket or straw over the top would bring down the soil temp enough to stimulate a fruiting. RR

Sorry...Never meant to be offensive...It's just that on a lot of forums people that don't necessarily know what the answer is offer answers that are better left unsaid...Personally I "guess" it could work too...it seems reasonable...What I was hoping for was a response from someone who KNEW it could work from experience, or who had some hands on knowledge of the subject...The climate in Zone 9 exists world wide...It seems fair to assume that there might be others out there with hands-on experience on the subject...Again...I apologize for coming off the way I did, but I was trying to discourage guessing without an educated rationale to support the hypothesis...
