How long until signs of colonization in Rye Berries?

It's been 3 days since I knocked up my 6 quart jars of rye, and I still see nothing in the jars. The grain is shakeable but it looks dry.
I thought that rye would colonize faster than PF, should it?
Heres a pic of the rye berries straight of of the PC, to me it looks to wet, but now it looks to dry.

I think the spores might be bad. I knocked up 3 LC's today to see if the spore are good or not.

I incubate at ridiculously cool temps, often below 70(F), and it can take up to two weeks before they're ready to be shaken the first time...and another two weeks before they're ready to spawn. Only ever had one contaminated jar thus far though...

My incubator runs between 80-82f so I was expecting very fast colonization.

Might I ask what strain you are using? You might wan't to adjust the incubator it may be to warm. Lower it to 78 and see if that does anything.
Let us know how it goes.

That normally means, that it germinated in the syringe early. Which is always sweet.

The earliest that u will see growth is 3 days, but that is in pf tek jars since spores are shot down inbetween the glass and substrate. And its only a small dime sized peice of growth.
You may have some growth but you just dont see it yet, or it just needs more time.
Leave it be for another 4 days then come back to it.
