Lowering Tolerance

Hey guys,
I've recently stopped smoking pot on a daily basis. So far it has been one week, and my aim is to reach 2 weeks, in order to train my mind to not crave the magical herb so much.
I've always found it beneficial and more enjoyable to smoke after a small break, i.e. 1-2 days, so that my tolerance will be slightly lower. I'm hoping the experience will be much more intense than a daily smoke. I havn't had a break of more than a week since I started smoking about a year ago, and I forget what it's like to have a low tolerance.
I'm hoping that my first session will blow me away when I decide to light up again.
Do any of you practice this method in order to lower tolerance? Do you think that a break of a week or two is worth it?
Cheers!

This is always a good idea imo. I have taken all sorts of breaks ranging from 1-2 days like you said to 10 months (which was amazing the first time I smoked again). I think its important sometimes to take breaks to allow oneself to remember how little it takes to get really high. I also like to take breaks to get in shape, I find this also increases the next time I smoke. Good luck on your break!

I totally think it's worth it, I took one hit of some cheap mids yesterday after a week's break and I was pleasantly surprised. I won't be smoking again until two weekends from now.

Last time I took a break for about 2 months and when I puffed again, it was only about 2 hits of headies and I got very stupid, which was a nice surprise.
I haven't really smoked in about 4 months so I bet my tolerance is back to zero.

the best way to enjoy weed is to space out your smokes until you stop thinking about it and just let it come your way
ive been on a bit of a break after i refrained for a day and felt much better than i would if i smoked
getting clear makes you think about why you smoke and gives you a much more productive perspective
and it makes smoking so much more fun
and fun is why we smoke is it not

well, the tolerance will of course go down, and the high will be stronger, but it will be nothing like the first couple of times you did it even if someone does never smoke on a daily basis, but on a weekly/monthly basis, it will never be the same as in the beginning this is mainly, because sooner or later, you will know the high inside out, which means, it won't blow your mind, because it's nothing new anymore goes for all drugs except for maybe mushrooms, but i'm not experienced enough to judge that lsd, for instance, definitely gets boring after lots of use

yeah lsd getting boring is a tragic thing
i was with a friend and we were both tripping and i had that constant smile you get but she seemed totally normal. i remarked something like "wow we have like eight more hours" and she was like "yeah so now what do we do"
what a bummer
thankfully i dont feel that way
and really every drug still blows my mind
weed included
like i hadnt smoked in maybe a month and recently i had a joint at a little get together and was watching people play nintendo and i kept think how genius this game is with the level of detail they put in but didnt need to because noone thinks about it
i remember that happening all the time in the beginning
watch a weird movie for the first time really stoned and thatll blow your mind

This past summer I went to Mexico for a few weeks and was pretty limited on the herb. I went from daily smoking to only puffing on about 5 joints with a buddy over the course of the whole trip. I was getting high as hell of mexican shwag. Some of it very strange to me, my friend, and my pops.
When I got back in town, I went to a friend's house (also my connect), where he had just bought a Hurricane.
...Well, to say the least... One rip from that Hurricane sent me on a spiral of highness. And the next day I came back and managed to get three hits out of it. I had never been so high!
So basically, even after taking a 2 week break from daily smoking, and merely reducing to a few puffs a week, my tolerance plummeted back to medium-lightweight. It was badass. My tolerance doesn't seem to go up too much despite smoking multiple times a day. Hell, half a bowl of good herb does me solid.
-------------------- Life is just a flashback... I may have gone a bit too far, I fear Will I get out of it this time? What was I thinking, taking this leap I thought I knew where we would go If only I knew, I had no idea.

I stopped during a full month not so long ago. I noticed a difference, but it wasn't worth waiting a full month. Since then I'm smoking weed daily.

I'm a daily smoker, and I forced myself to take a two week break when I moved to Seattle a few weeks ago. (it was going to be longer...but you know how that goes )
it gave me a unusual attitude towards weed when I started smoking again. It certainly got me really stoned! But I noticed, after about an hour (of pure joy, I still LOVE being stoned) i start feeling annoyed that I'm comming down. The rest of the day just seems pointless unless I smoke more. When I have weed at home, all I want to do is smoke it. I get tired and lazy and bored with everything that isn't weed related. Now, this obviously sounds like an addiction problem. And yah, i kind of feel that way too. But it never used to be that way...at least I never noticed it until I made myself quit for a while. I don't really know what to do. I think I might stop buying weed. which sucks.
Has anyone else noiced this? And could it be the strain?? I'm used to medical MJ from L.A. clinics, and now im smoking 'something' from the PNW. just wondering?

If your holding off on smoking for a little while say a week or two and then plan to smoke maybe you should smoke in a different way than usual, one that could get you super high even if you were an everyday smoker. Some people may smoke like this usually but for me I wouldn't do this every day or anything: knife hits are a great way to get that "first time" high again, especially with hash DAMN!. Gravity bongs are the shit, enought said. And on a few occasions during my summer, when I was smoking HEAVLY I smoked some bowls with some chronic weed, hash on top of that, and some honey oil melted on top of that. Now that my friends is they way to blast yourself. I've smoked that with people who've compared it to shrooming, even if your an every day smoker that would fuck you, but think if you had laid off of it for a month. Hehe good times.

I've ALWAYS had ~2 month break in-between getting high. I observed my friends for years and did not want to turn out like them, so I made that vow to space it out. Now, each time I want to get high, it takes only 2 hits to get me retarded and everyone says I'm lightweight. Well GOOD I'd rather be lightweight then destroy my lungs. I know it sounds crazy but last time I took 4 hits over the summer, and it was like Salvia.
2 week breaks sound like a great idea just do it for your health. I don't even know what it's like to NOT have an uncontrollable high, it's wierd seeing people just relax on it.
