apple juice LC (pic)

Searching the forums, i came across some discussions about using juice as-is for LC's (apparently it's been done for a long time)
So i went to the grocery, and grabbed up a six pack of little bottles of apple juice. Within the confines of the ol' glovebox, i pierced the lid with a hot nail and shot in a few cc's of spores. Placed a piece of tyvek and a rubberband over the lid, and left it to marinate for awhile.
about a week and a half later...i got some growth

this was much easier then making up an LC solution from scratch. This juice is already sterile and ready to go. It may be a bit more expensive, but it's still cheap. few bucks for the six pack, saved me hours of work preparing LC's

WTF, it worked for you?! I tried with 3 different brands. 6 or so bottles in total. NONE of them worked.
I think syrup or honey is easy already. And you can get away with not sterilizing if you're that lazy (not recommended tho)

For sure...took a long break from growing due to the hot weather (makes for bad indoor growing conditions here) but now that it's winter i'll be back to posting up

dunno man..dumb luck i guess? I've had problems with normal LC's sometimes also, shroom gods work in mysterious ways sometimes, lol.
and yes, made from scratch LC's are not difficult to do in comparison to other processes in growing, but I always like trying new things out, and this is pretty convenient, only takes a few min. and you're done, no boiling or anything

well..i'm pretty self sufficient for spores, but the upstairs of our place gets all the heat rising up from the rest of the house, and it never gets below like 85-90 up here in the summer time. So projects gotta be put on hold until cool weather comes

It's in incubator mode right now but all I have to do to fruit in it is wipe it out and put a light on top.

Yes, but the heat rises, and our house upstairs is a finished attic type space, even with a window ac unit upstairs it stays pretty warm in the summer. downstairs is 75..upstairs would be about 89, lol.

That was a necessary post...
Anyways, this is great. It's saves so much prep and helps with sterility issues. Would you recommend putting some silicone near the top where you will inoculate so it self heals when you inject it?

Yea, that would be an option. I didn't find it necessary though, just used a glovebox and sterile techniques and did fine. You have to poke a hole first using the hot nail (or something similar) i dont think adding silicone, then letting that dry, then inoculating would have an advantage over just inoculating when you poke the hole. You're already in the glovebox, might as well do it all in one shot and slap some micropore tape on there.
