quick fruiting question

ok so ive been reading teks left and right, just searching random shit and i came across a tek that simply hook up a cool-mist to a huge 50gal tub. would the coolmist provide "that much" of a difference, rather than fanning a couple times a day? A) is perlite or other forms of humidity necessary if using a coolmist and a tub? B)wouldnt you want some holes of other type of ventilation? C)since water would eventually build up, woud the tub have to be elevated in some way to where water could drip from a ghetto rigged drainage system. i just cant see in my head how it would work without the tub being elevated or at an angle of some sort.

yea you can use a cool mist hooked up to a tub... pipe the coolmist to the top of one side of the tub.. and have a few exhaust ports on the opposite side of the tub at the bottom.. you can run it at 15 min intervals.. on 15, off for 30.. on 15.. off for 30..
i would still use a little bit of perlite.. about an inch or two of the good white stuff...unless of course your using the tub to do a strait casing... then no perlite is necessary

what...in the hell are you trying to say? "a strait casing"?
You can use a coolmist; be sure to drill more than enough holes in your tub to further facilitate the air exchange. I personally leave it on 24/7 for FAE/humidity; my humidity stays fine and I notice no pooling water. If water did pool it'd likely evaporate.
No word yet on how "this guy" plans on putting 2 inches of perlite below a monotub for no particular reason.

strait casing as in.. use the whole tub for the casing.. rather than use the tub with perlite.. then have a tray of your bulk on top of the perlite...
i dont use monotubs.. i use a greenhouse.. so forgive me for not getting the terminology correct.. sheesh.. and sorry i have a life and dont respond immediately mr. linger

i wasnt saying to use perlite with a cased monotub.. ... people people people.. always jumping to conclusions before actually comprehending what they read.
never have i ever told anyone to put perlite as a bottom layer to their casing.. thats dumb and we all know that.. at least i'd hope so.

well the only purpose of putting perlite at the bottom of a casing would be to A: suck up any moisture from over application to the poo. B: cause contams C: waste Perlite haha

I understand what you mean....but no, monotubs work more than OK at holding humidity without perlite.
